This is one among many reasons why Biden is going to run for re-election.

Just show that even as old and decrepit, Biden can outwit the rest of the Democratic Party, he used the demand of the wokesters and special interest to select someone so incompetent and uncharismatic as "heir" that no one want to replace him with her. Any voice to give her a bigger position in the administration disappeared after having talked with her for two minutes and she's so uncharismatic that not even the right-wing media care enough to cover her. She's the perfect VP for an old White male democratic president.

Being the first Black VP will give you attention

It's a historic choice

People are not used to her

I'm confused about exactly what she is supposed to be doing? When she was selected there was gossip that she was going to be sneaking around trying to backstab Biden because she's this conniving harpy, but now she's being too quiet. The Vice President only is supposed to do what the constitution says and if the President wants them to be a standard bearer on certain issues they do that, but overall it's a limited role.

People just expected her to do something. Pence at least was the only sane person in the room under Trump, Biden served to implement the Obama agenda, Cheney shot people in the face and made them apologize for it.

“Prominent female politician is unlikeable version 397.”

This obsession with someone as mundane as Harris is creepy, borderline incelly.

I think these comments would be more interesting, if people came with the argument in favor of Harris, instead of going "all criticism of her is because of sexism".

When you keep failing-up thanks to your race/gender, you will eventually reach the point where everyone realizes it was all a charade.

Please note:  there are plenty of accomplished Black and/or female politicians who deserve the success they've achieved, but KH is not really among them.  What has she ever achieved other than being a diversity hire?

I think this comment would be more interesting if anyone made an argument against Harris that’s not

“I don’t like her.”

“Why?”

“ITS NOT BECAUSE I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BLACK WOMEN NO SIR”

Harris is a boring politician, neither particularly accomplished nor controversial. Frankly I can’t see why she’d occupy more than a second of anyone’s time. The only thing remarkable about her, save being VP, is that she’s the first woman & person of colour to get there. It’s really not that hard to work out where the obsession comes from - people wouldn’t be making these threads about Vice President Tim Kaine or Vice President Evan Bayh.

Maybe she is bored with doing nothing every day. We don't hear much about her and thus we don't think about her. And so we make up stories. She's got two more years to go, you never know what will happen by then. If you want entertainment go follow Trump.

Really the only thing is make public appearances, and Kamala is (generously) a below-average public speaker. Biden is already very personable one-on-one and not very compelling as a speaker, so the right balance would be to have a speaker who can give a speech without embarrassing him/herself, in which case Harris is an abysmal choice. This is why she is rarely trotted out by the administration, and why the chances she got to prove herself earned her a place in obscurity by the people who plan these things.

Harris is the heir to a relatively successful administration and serving under a President who might not be physically capable of running again. That's why people are paying attention; the fact she isn't accomplished adds to why this is a story.

You can bet if Tim Kaine or Evan Bayh were completely missing from any speculation about 2024/2028 runs they'd be getting the same kind of treatment too.

This is nothing but racism and white supremacy talking. To say that someone who got an education and was elected twice as a district attorney and attorney general and once as a Senator is an affirmative action hire is nothing but racist.

What users constantly forget is blk vote is huge why to Ds overperform polls because 30/1ooM blks and Latinos are in poverty and since slavery 20/200 M whites are in poverty why as I constantly say is that inheritance wealth whites didn't get all their wealth from working, if blks inherit wealth it's a H or Car 150 K in average if whites inheritance wealth it's a law office or a mansion 800 K wealth like Trump

That's why people always play the Lottery to get that 800 K not 100 K jackpot

That's why we overperform the polls always and CA reparations whenever we get a Filibuster proof Trifecta it's tax increase on the rich and reparations

Why are we competitive in KY Gov race since we lost KY by 22 it's the blk vote not going to Cameron why does Kunce have a chance to win MO because Trudy Valentine was a female when Kander ran it was 49/46 its definitely OH 22 but hopefully with Kunce Winning and blk vote is huge in St Louis

Same with MS Gov Presley can get the remaining vote with enough Blks and indies

Why was Harris able to quickly rise through the ranks in the San Francisco DA office and become a viable contender for state office in the first place?  Lol

Answer the question - what has Harris done to distinguish herself as a national politician, either as VP or in a previous role?  Team Biden explicitly had to limit the pool of VPs to Black women to justify picking her lol

Harris is an LLM that means Lawyer, what did Pence or Cheney done to limit the pool Cheney was supposed to pick the Veep and he was chosen Veep the reason why Rs lost in 2006 was not because of Bush W, Cheney was missing all of Hurricane Katrina, because Blks were destressed in New Orleans' that's why they lost Cheney was very instrumental in 2004 in Iraq War, and whom did J Dennis Hassert look like why Rs lost the H that yr you know who Dick Cheney

D's pick lawyers, John, Edwards, Kerry, Hillary, Bill Clinton all are lawyers Trump broke the law so many times because he along with Bush W and Reagan weren't Lawyers

That's why Biden picked Harris and Ryan was a much better candidate than Vance he was a lawyer but DeWine won by 25

She really wasn't considered viable because even Democrats were ready to write her off because they didn't think she could beat a White Republican Man who was DA of Los Angeles County. She worked hard to win her races.

The point that is being missed is that a lot of women politicians are the subject of likability tests in ways that male politicians are not.

no, we saw it and there are two problems with this "point":
1.our retort of "she hasn't done anything, and what she has done before becoming VP, wasn't very good" is a very good one, we can tell, because there has never been a response to this that wasn't more of the same
2.I (and I'm sure most others) voted a for a whole mess of women this last election and every election before.  I even voted for a lady for President, and oddly enough, I don't much liker her either.  But the other, male options, didn't pass my likability test Wink

I'm confused about exactly what she is supposed to be doing?

I don't know, maybe find some way---any way---to demonstrate that the country would be in good hands with her as President.

Vice President is a crappy job unless you're Dick Cheney, yes, so on one level I sympathize (and yes, she's the most prominent black female politician in the country, so of course she's going to get a lot of nasty, bigoted, and unfair criticism).

That being said:

The point that is being missed is that a lot of women politicians are the subject of likability tests in ways that male politicians are not.

This isn't incongruent with Kamala Harris being a lousy potential presidential candidate/nominee and/or President. Both things can be true.
