What the hell. I'll ask for an endorsement. I've always been ambitious yet very cautious about the programs and laws we implement. I support regional rights on most issues. But I reject the South's behavior over the past week. I am an uncompromising unionist. I will work with anyone who wants to keep that union strong.

One thing that meant a lot to me is when Yankee said when I'm not in the Senate, it's worse off. Much as I love Sev, his attendance is the worst just behind Greg. That F grade will immediately switch to A+.

I support free speech. I support gun rights (and if anything was memorable about my presidency it was the repeal of the AWB -- what a nightmare that was!). I'm a conservationist who supports drilling, fracking, and mining in the states of the region I'm seeking to represent.

But my views are nuanced and not too dissimilar from Yankee, who's been a partner to me in the Senate and another supporter of unionism.

I could go on and on, but I'm the only candidate. Why not go for the gold?

Thank you.

On behalf of the Tack/Laki ticket, requesting an endorsement. As senator (and VP candidate) i've shown a willingness to cross lines and listen to independent or other-minded voices, and we've been able to cooperate well wherever I believed that was justified or wherever our ideas were in line each other. On top of that, in the senate we've often been able to compromise even if initially we were not on the same page. No-one on the ticket has been tainted by the Kansas Crisis and we promise if elected that we will govern the republic in a decent, respectful and reasonable way.

Laki,

Tack said this today (below):

Many Federalists are not [honorable]. They...attack the working class and the most vulnerable...and even undermine the independence of our institutions.

I know you have carried yourself as a multipartisan Senator and you were elected with cross-party support but the top person on your ticket has utter contempt for this party. Why should we consider supporting this candidacy in earnest?

"Reaching out" to us in this way seems like posturing since Tack has little regard for this party or its members and since you recommended that post of his, and you are in fact running with him. You pointed to your own independence in the Senate but Tack's only claim to the same is opposing the Kansas invaders at the last moment, something that was a common sense issue for those wishing to remain active in the game.

How can I expect your ticket, if elected, to serve "decent[ly]" and "respectfully" when the top of your ticket began his campaign on the attack?

EDIT: I might also add that a blanket attack on this party is a lazy fear-mongering tactic, especially when our party is far from uniform and when Federalists split between abstentions, nays, and ayes on legislation not infrequently.

Ftr the "many federalists are not honourable" claim also means plenty others are! I will be more than happy to work with Yankee or even Cao himself as president. Not so much the YT or LT of this world Wink

Not a Federalist, but upon transition, you should look at Nuuk, Greenland!

Will the transition be completed before June?

It would be an interesting location, though I would prefer we not vote for such until it is nailed down. Perhaps October.

I might be a little late for this, but asking for the party's endorsement in the Lincoln Governor's race.

IMHO, Lincoln needs to start moving in the direction of smaller government.  Big, bloated government simply does not serve the people as well as a more compact system does.  That's what we have right now, and it is something that I want to change.

Of course, this is not to say that I support doing away with the current system.  My plan is not to throw it out, but to make it work better for the people that it's supposed to work for.  In short, that's every citizen of Lincoln.

I think it's time to do the things that government ought to do, but not be unreasonable.  We should protect basic rights, "let business be business", and encourage opportunity.  We should equip our citizens with the tools needed for success, and ensure that every child receives a quality education.  And we should see to it that, through policies meant to promote law and order, no Lincolnite lives in fear.

These are just some of the goals that I have committed myself to accomplishing.  Through doing these things, we will have a better and stronger region.

More details about my platform can be found here.

I would greatly appreciate the party's support and vote.  Thank you very much for your time.

As the current Southern Governor, and friend to many in this party, I would encourage federalists to endorse Christian Man.

He will not fire players in cabinet roles and then appoint NPC’s to fill the vacancies.

What in heaven's name are you talking about? Meanwhile, you govern over a region that wants to secede from Atlasia.  Take that as you will.

Well excuse me for not remembering.  :-/
