Holocaust denier Mark Robinson has won the Republican nomination for Governor.

its truly scary this guy is the nominee for Governor and he has a chance of winning. He list of disgusting and vile comments is too long to list.

Robinson doing poorly in the early results. Probably a strong sign of Dems crossing over in the primary.

Where is the discussion for the North Carolina U.S House races?

It wouldn’t be in this subforum. I don’t know if there is a thread dedicated to those specific races.

Did AIPAC campaign against the genuinely anti Semitic Mark Robinson?

Morgan getting 29% in Watauga County in the Gov. primary is reflective of an interesting phenomenon; there's a woman there who puts together a voter guide each year that Dems use for all of their materials. She doesn't always pick the establishment favorite, so sometimes in random races you get a candidate like Morgan winning there.

Meddling effort to nominate Deberry over Jackson in the Dem AG primary failed, Jackson on track to win by over 20 points. Meanwhile, R LG is a hot mess, with a runoff guaranteed. On the D side, Rachel Hunt is actually getting a tiny percent higher of the vote than Stein is in his race and is matching his vote total. Is that a sign of residual goodwill from her famous last name?

Also, looks like Mike Woodard lost his State Senate seat -- pretty striking for a very long-serving and prominent Democrat to go down like this. Though he was increasingly not a great fit for Durham, especially with his not-so hidden skeletons in the closet.

I don't even know if AIPAC has any interest in Gubernatorial races, as there are no foreign policy implications, but if they do Josh Stein is essentially the perfect candidate for them and Robinson is the easiest candidate for him to beat.

Yeah, I don't think they really do much work at the state level.

Fair point, but Robinson is so overtly anti Semitic that I would have expected AIPAC to say something.

AIPAC isn’t a Jewish lobbying group, they’re an Israeli lobbying group. In 2022 they burned money trying to oust Andy Levin, a Jewish congressman, in favor of Haley Stevens, a Protestant congressman, cause Levin had a record of criticizing Israel’s treatment of Gazans and Palestinians.

As others have said, unless the Governor of North Carolina can benefit Israel I’d be surprised if AIPAC spends any real money on this race.

There are genuine Jewish lobbying groups who I could see throwing money in, but not AIPAC.

I appreciate that (I've been playing dumb(er) somewhat), but for a long term when AIPAC called out an anti Israel government Democrat, AIPAC didn't refer to them as 'anti Israel' but as 'anti Semitic.' Not only that, but seemingly the entire mainstream media parroted AIPAC and joined in in trying to cancel any politician deemed by AIPAC as 'anti Semitic.'

AIPAC could care less. Herzl himself talked often about the need to form alliances with Western antisemites, as many Zionists and many antisemites both want all Jews to go to Israel and prioritize their ethnicity over their ideology. AIPAC is carrying on that legacy, Jews who do not put Israel first are viewed as traitors, non Jews who support Israel are viewed as allies, no matter how much disdain they might have for American Jews who are not ethnonationalists, and no matter how bloodthirsty their reasons for really supporting Israel.

Sorry, I'm not clear about your position--on a scale of sincere to insincere and also anti-Semitic to pro-Semitic, how would you describe Mark Robinson?

Mark Robinson has made a series of anti Semitic comments and anti Semitic tropes. He's a loony and hate filled conspiracy theorist, why would you have trouble with this?

Dems really just need to pull out all the stops on the Mastriano playbook for Robinson.
