Many odd details in a certain strange rant but I think this one in particular deserves a little bit of attention...

For example, The voters in Israel realized that the left-wing media and Biden White House were tipping the scale for Herzog after failing to take down Netanyahu with flimsy corruption charges...

Herzog is the incumbent President of Israel and was not the de facto candidate for Prime Minister of the bulk of the anti-Netanyahu parties: that was Lapid. The posts of President and Prime Minister are not the same, and Herzog and Lapid are not the same people either. Herzog has run as a serious candidate for Prime Minister before and may well do so again, but that is the past (and back when Obama was in the White House) and the potential future, not the present. If you get this sort of thing so hilariously wrong, why should anyone take anything else you write seriously?

These people, and most especially any public official who backed them or failed to respond to them with all due diligence, need to be punished ruthlessly. Bolsonarism must be thoroughly purged from the Brazilian state.

Photo of 50 buses in line, all filled with jailed terrorists.

1200/50 = Around 24 terrorists per bus.

It’s nice to see the police and military not siding with the far right

Tbh, I'm kind of surprised such a terrorist uprise hasn't happened before. It's really staggering how much parallels there are between the 2020 US election and 2022 Brazilian election. Even Bolsonaro is a Florida man now.

To be fair, it should be noted that Bolsonaro immediately stated that these actions are illegal and praised the measures taken by the Brazilian government to put a stop to them.  His attitude starkly contrasts with that of Donald Trump on the morning after the 6th of January.

You guys cry fraud every time you lose an election and try to violently overthrow the government, but sure, we're the ones who live in a bubble.

The difference may be explained by the fact that Bolsonaro is just a fascist, Trump is a fascist with personality disorder.

...or that members of congress including Ocasio-Cortez and Castro have asked for his expulsion from the US and he just wants to make nice and avoid problems with the US authorities.  But for whatever reason, he has made multiple public statements and tweets saying that while peaceful demonstrations are part of democracy, the "golpistas e terroristas" are operating outside the law and should be arrested.

I'm not saying that his previous instigation can be overlooked, but I do think it is important to contrast Bolsonaro's reaction to the rioting with Trump's reactions.  I also think it is being generous to call Donald Trump a fascist (or even a nihilist).  I think he is completely devoid of ideology.  Or at least he does not seem to be subordinated to any ideological principles, other than the love of money.

The difference is Bolsonaro is a fascist who is afraid that he might get punished, whereas Trump was a fascist who was too stupid to realize that he might get punished.

If he returns, he's more likely to be charged for his pandemic policies that caused thousands of avoidable deaths.

It’s enraging, but at the same time hilarious to see Brazil right self-destruct themselves too!

https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/brazils-top-court-removes-brasilia-governor-over-pro-bolsonaro-riots-2023-01-09/

The pro-Bolsonaro governor of Brasilia has been suspended for 90 days by the Supreme Court over his failure to provide effective security. They also ordered all protestor camps outside military bases to be taken down within 24 hours and ordered social media to take down any anti-democratic propaganda.

Apparently he's in the hospital again.

That's honestly a hilarious part of this whole ordeal.  That fact Bolsonaro was in the hospital for a chunk of the post-election period prevented him from adding fuel to the conspiratorial fire, and perhaps why there was no true coup.

Bolsonaro should be sent back to Brazil, right away.

Blinken needs to get busy here.

Also, who is Bolsonaro's heir?

It's not entirely clear yet who will be the bearer of the right wing torch 4 years from now but I've seen the names of Hamilton Mourão (Bolsonaro's vice president), Tarcisio Gomes de Freitas (Bolsonaro's infrastructure minister and governor of São Paulo), Romeu Zema (governor of Minas Gerais), Sergio Moro (Operation Car Wash judge and senator from Paraná) and a few others.

I'd argue Zema would probably be the strongest candidate in a presidential election, but I think Tarcisio is the most likely to actually make it to a second round and win the presidency.
