Boisclair will not resign. Leaders are usually given a second chance. Charest will not resign either, unless the Liberals lose.

I reckon at 7pm we'll know the Magdelan Islands.

Iles-de-la-Madeleine is hardly a result in doubt, though. Should be an easy PQ hold with the ADQ performing dismally once more and the PVQ performing dismally for the first time. (They don't seem to like new parties much.)

Im not sure if provincial laws fall under the Election Act's provision about releasing results before the rest of the polls are closed. I guess we'll have to wait until 7pm to find out.

An hour from now (well, 55 minutes), whenever that is for you.

The CBC says that "polling stations ... will close at 8 p.m. [ET] in all of Quebec's 125 ridings."

Are you sure they mean ET? The Magdalen Islands observe AT.

Yes, the article clarified a time with "ET" in the part that I edited out (which stated that polls opened at 9:30 ET), so I would assume that the "8 PM" is also intended to be ET as well.

They must be closing at 9pm Atlantic Time Sad

Sucks, they'd always be the first riding to report. They used to be a good belwhether riding back in the day.

Just to show how silly "leading" is this early, the Greens are leading somewhere in Central Quebec (which means they won a poll).

The Greens are in a distant second in D'Arcy-McGee, too. I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish second there.

I like how the PLQ is leading in a majority of the ridings while losing the popular vote by 5%. Tongue

Usually it's the Liberals who lead in the PV and lose in seats
