She has my complete and total endorsement. For the Republican nomination. No matter what Sinema does, this is good news for the Gallego campaign.

Be careful what you wish for.

This is silly. She's the best candidate democrats could hope for in their wildest dreams. She's so far off the reservation she will only get far right voters, while Gallego will carry a higher % of democrats and a higher % of indies. McCain republicans will be split between Gallego and Sinema. Sinema ends up with maaaaaybe 15% of the vote.

Lake was a super strong candidate who outperformed the Senate candidate by 4 in 2022.

She lost an election with an R +6 electorate. That is a shockingly bad performance by any metric, regardless of how many points she outperformed a vegetable homunculus.

She was awful. She only outperformed him because Masters was that much worse and Kelly was far stronger than Hobbs.

Sinema could have had an easy path to renomination, without even a challenge, and be favored for the GE. She didn't have to be a AOC 2.0, she just needed to vote like Mark Kelly. Instead, she chose to throw all away for attention.

She's trying to throw the seat to Republicans in exchange for a nice, cushy lobbying gig after she leaves the Senate. That's why she's going to run.

Or possibly a spot in a new Trump cabinet?

I would say she ran a good campaign but she was still a bad candidate(other than the McCain remark)

I don't think it makes sense to interpret Sinema's action as triangulating to get a better gig, because on paper in 2018 she easily could have positioned herself to be a genuine political force in the Senate, someone who down the line could be in line to run for President.

Being Trump's Secretary of the Treasury or whatever is a career dead end, and what she's been doing politically is bad for her political prospects. Sinema acts this way because these are her personal views on the issues, even if it wasn't always so.

Trump is not appointing a ultrafeminist girlboss who agrees with Biden on 99% of issues and voted to convict him twice to his cabinet LOL.

I wouldn't say Lake is a strong candidate, it's more that Arizona isn't that blue of a state yet. Plus Masters was just atrocious.

Yes, she was so strong that she lost a race despite it being in a state that was effectively tied in 2020, where Biden had a 40% approval rating, and inflation was record high. Bang up job there, Kari!

Is this real and confirmed? What makes me skeptical is that the sound is so loud and clear. Usually from the distance this is filmed, you would expect their voices wouldn't be that loud without talking into a mic.

It's confirmed she was mic'ed. So I assume this was a planned and staged stunt by Lake.

That’s not the win she thinks it is.  Gallego comes as very calm and thoughtful.  Lake comes off as a deranged jacka** and the sort of weirdo who spends their whole day shoving pictures of dead fetuses in people’s faces as they are trying to get to work.

Gallego objectively comes off far better here.
