Massive HP, easily one of the worst people the GOP has ever nominated. There's a reason why the guy was the only former GOP nominee to vote for Trump . The guy was literally Trump before it was cool and shared some of his worst attributes. He did serve in WW2, which is good, but so did many other people.

Meh before 2016, HP after. That said, it says a lot about the GOP that Dole would've been  a better President than all the Republican nominees since 1996 with the exception of McCain.

Lean HP, dummy wanted to simultaneously build a missile defense shield AFTER the Cold War ended and fulfill Norquist’s dream of “cutting the government down to where it could drown in a bathtub.” Will admit his (still active!) 1996 campaign website is pretty neat and deserves his due for partially inspiring the most poignant Kang/Kodos Treehouse of Horror appearance.
