They have been married for 27 years. It's astounding that he put up with her nonsense for that long, and apparently, it's rumored that she cheated on him multiple times.

It's probably a harsh thing to say, but the most shocking thing about that is the fact that MTG found someone to cheat with.

If this was any other member of Congress it wouldn’t get a USGD thread
MTG does not behave like any other member of Congress. She should not be treated as such, and you should not expect people to react to her as if she were any other member of Congress.

Absolutely agreed.

Anyway, you know what I'd love? (Just branching out here...) If MTG's husband does what Paul Gosar's siblings did and campaigns against her, maybe even runs against her, or something. It would all be gold even if it was Safe MTG.

Maybe he can claim he got physically abused by her (this tactic worked for Johnny Depp) or something. It would all be gold even if it was Safe MTG.

lmao did you just manage to trivialize domestic abuse twice in one sentence?

Yeah, I thought that part of my post would ruffle some feathers (yours in particular). No offence meant to you, and yeah, I probably shouldn't have said that.

Editing to remove it.

Though, regarding Depp/Heard, I maintain it wasn't as black-and-white as the public consensus figured it was - I suspect there was some degree of mutual abuse, and Depp was hardly entirely blameless in the proceedings. Now naturally we shouldn't automatically believe women when they claim abuse and not believe men when they do the same, but I do genuinely think it was a case of mutual abuse, where both Depp and Heard were quite abusive with each other (and remember - Heard might be an actor, but Depp is too).

ya he needs to be voted out too then

get rid of all the divorced in congress, vote them out ASAP

our leaders should not be divorced

Do you realise who Warnock's opponent in the GE is?

Let's just say...if Warnock's personal life and marital life are less than exemplary, Herschel Walker's are still much, much worse.

Yeah, I think we all can agree that it was a toxic relationship. My opinion is that Heard was the aggressor and Depp went low instead of going high. By the evidence of the case, Heard's part in it was much worse than Depp's.

I don't want to derail the thread or relitigate the trial but if a guy said "I wasn't punching you, I was hitting you" to a girl at school they'd be suspended (if not expelled).

Agreed with the last part for certain.
And there is absolutely stigma / social taboo / stereotypes about women abusing men that absolutely need to be addressed. I mean, I recall a tape of Heard berating Depp and telling him, in essence, that nobody would believe him and he’d be laughed away if he tried to say he was getting abused by his wife.
