This week's GameDay hasn't been announced yet, but I have to think it's one of USC/UCLA, Utah/Oregon or Illinois/Michigan (and really, it should be one of the two PAC-12 games).

The entire state of Montana has been pushing for Brawl of the Wild for years. Montana shouldn't have blown so many games this year, it would be easier to beg for if both had one loss. Instead, Montana may miss out on the playoffs if they lose.

They probably have to give the Pac-12 another one, but UCLA has no fans and they won't show up hours from campus at 4AM following a loss to Arizona. So that leaves a second trip to a decent fanbase in Eugene following their eliminating loss. Not ideal.

Brawl of the Wild with all the stakes would be much more entertaining.

538's playoff predictor has six teams with a realistic chance (> 40%) to make the playoff, followed by a big dropoff to a group of three with 10-15% chances.

88% Georgia
66% Ohio State
50% TCU
47% Tennessee
44% Clemson
41% Michigan
14% LSU
13% USC
10% North Carolina

You were right. College GameDay is heading to Bozeman for the Brawl of the Wild (though I think USC/UCLA would have been the better choice. Also a rivalry game, and more relevant nationally, given USC could make the playoff still.)

Next week should be Ohio State/Michigan, but that's the FOX Big Noon Kickoff, so it won't be.

I'd guess it'll be Notre Dame/USC. It's the only remaining suitably important game with a national profile that's being played on a Saturday (NC State/North Carolina is on Friday, as is UCLA/Cal and Tulane/Cincinnati).

Next week they should go to Coastal Carolina @ James Madison, which is the only important game of national significance being played on Saturday.

Week 12

Saturday, November 19th

#4 TCU @ Baylor – lesson learned, conceding to Terry and not picking against TCU here
Virginia Tech @ Liberty
Duke @ Pittsburgh
#19 Kansas State @ West Virginia
Washington State @ Arizona – note Arizona is bowl-eligible if they win out, which is... very possible. Did not think Jedd Fisch had it in him.
Houston @ East Carolina
Georgia State @ James Madison
Oregon State @ Arizona State
#16 NC State @ Louisville
#18 Texas @ Kansas
Coastal Carolina @ Virginia
South Alabama @ Southern Miss
Louisiana Tech @ Charlotte
Florida Atlantic @ Middle Tennessee
Iowa @ MinneSODA
Arkansas State @ Texas State
The 125th Big Game: STANFORD @ cal – note Cal has named their stadium "FTX Field" and, as of today, has not yet found another sponsor. lol #BeatCal
Marshall @ Georgia Southern
Texas Tech @ Iowa State
#11 Ole Miss @ Arkansas
Oklahoma State @ Oklahoma
#8 USC @ #12 UCLA – it was so thoughtful of the Conference of Champions to rescue this otherwise pretty dull slate of games with two incredible bangers for our evening. Anyway did you know the only top-tier Pac-12 team w/out a signature win this season is the Trojans?
UAB @ #7 LSU
San Jose State @ Utah State
#13 Utah @ #6 Oregon – this should be the conference championship game

Oklahoma State
USC (Great rivalry game, elimination game for the PAC-12 title game, and if USC loses it, they can kiss their slim playoff chances goodbye)

If they played a better schedule they might well have a worse record.

Also, you're missing a game.

First new hire of the cycle, as Charlotte hires Michigan Associate Head Coach Biff Poggi.

This is an interesting hire. This will be Poggi's first time as a college head coach, and his most relevant previous experience before coming to Michigan was at The Citadel under Charlie Taafe.

I'm not sure Charlotte could have gotten a better playcaller, and given Michigan's recruiting in the past few years, Poggi's clearly at least decent in that field, but with Charlotte moving to the AAC, they probably needed a slightly bigger name, maybe someone with at least FBS experience as an assistant coach, to compete with teams like Memphis and SMU (or at least Temple and UAB).

I can't get over Illinois ____ing the bed the last two weeks. Each of those games were very much winnable, despite horrendous refereeing. But they shot themselves in the foot play after play after play after a month and a half of extremely disciplined football. I don't get it man. I should be going to Ann Arbor tomorrow with no pressure at all, just enjoying the potential for a good game. Now, I think its just going to be a freezing cold sad experience that will highlight a 3 game losing streak and really damper what truly has been a step forward season. Hopefully they can beat Northwestern and get a decent draw in a mid-tier bowl game. A bowl win would really look good and help keep the momentum going into next year. They haven't won a bowl game since my freshman year 11 years ago...

Illinois probably sneaks into the Rose Bowl if they win the Big Ten West (They basically need to beat Northwestern, then hope that Iowa, Minnesota, and Purdue all lose once in the last week, and that might not be enough. They should beat Michigan, but I'm not crazy enough to say that that's doable), and then upsets Ohio State in Big Ten Championship Game.

More realistically, either the Citrus Bowl or Las Vegas Bowl/Duke's Mayo Bowl (which ever one the Big Ten is eligible for), would be the more likely scenario.

Illinois has no path to the Rose bowl unless they win the Big Ten, which isn’t happening. Potentially Penn State could if Michigan and ohio both get into the playoff
