On abortion, Tilts makes a good point about UK law. Based on that, I wonder if many other countries have a difference between their de facto and de jure position on abortion.

The situation Tilts describes is pretty much how it works in Japan too. Not in Israel, though, which apparently does actually deny abortion requests now and then.

If we're going purely by de jure statutes, shouldn't Italy also be colored green?
