how about, not necessarily crazy, but not a great idea.  I think Obama should be at the top of the ticket, but that he needs someone with some "gravitas" to show his decision making prowess (Richardson?, Biden?, maybe).  But who knows, the idea of the "young" ticket might catch on.

Obama/Edwards would be awful. Edwards didn't add anything to the 2004 ticket, and wouldn't add anything to this one. Obama should put someone with "experience" on the bottom of the ticket, such as Bill Richardson, Tom Vilsack, Russ Feingold, or Evan Bayh.

Obama/Edwards would be alright with me but I can't see Edwards taking the VP slot again.

I agree.  There's no way Edwards will accept another VP position on anyone's ticket.  Edwards/Obama could be a strong ticket though.

Obama/Edwards is not ideal. Edwards would be a good Presidential candidate but a poor VP candidate; he has the ability to shine, but not to support. The same is true of the reverse situation, though I think Obama would be slightly better as a VP candidate for Edwards than Edwards would be as a VP candidate for Obama.

Either one of them needs someone with some weight; Richardson, Warner, Bayh, even Biden would be a reasonably good choice. The charismatic, flashy Presidential candidate balanced by the staid and solid VP candidate is ideal, I think.

Obama seems smarter than to put a proven loser on his ticket.

The thing about presidential tickets is that you always should try to make your VP candidate be the person who has the stuff you don't in order to flesh out the whole.  In this case, the opposite is true: both Obama and Edwards bring the same thing to a ticket and lack the same things, too.  I don't think it'd be a good idea to put these two both on the same ticket in either order.

Edwards/Obama would be much better than the reverse, but I really would rather have Edwards/Bayh.

Obama and Edwards would both need more experienced running mates.
