Also LOL @ 2012 BRTD's Pokemon-themed suggestion. Milotic is a Gen 3 Pokemon from the Hoenn region (geographically analogous to RL Kyushu), while Muk is a Gen 1 Pokemon from the Kanto region (geographically analogous to the RL Tokyo area). Roughly analogous to real-life D trends in the Sun Belt and R trends in the Rust Belt.

I know little about Japanese geography but that seems kind of strange for the most populated metro area on Earth. I assume Tokyo is the sort of place that in a US context would be heavily D and trending that way.
No but it is pretty similar to NYC,
which is more R than expected for its density level and may continue trending R this decade. It was more because Kyushu is further south and Hoenn is known to have a warmer climate than the other Japan-inspired Pokemon regions.
