Massive FF of course. The savior of Virginia who gave the GOP a model on how to actually win elections, and hopefully our country's next vice president under President Ronald D. DeSantis. If my fantasies aren't realized (probably won't be), I hope he'll be an excellent cabinet official for a GOP president in the future.

I voted for him (3rd time in 12 years i voted straight ticket). He sounds like a used car salesman and when I attended a speech he gave here he broke my heart a little by referring to president "John Monroe" but hes replacing the worst ever Virginia governor so FF.

Neutral. His governorship will be a mixed bag. Nova has grown too liberal for him to be overwhelmingly popular.

Personally.. I like that he proved my points about covid hysteria and will put a stop to it nation wide but his stance on climate change and the environment is frightening to me.

HP. I was hoping that he'd at least be fairly harmless in his term but that definitely won't be the case if the Virginia Senate falls in 2023 and isn't really the case now. Kind of hoping he just spends all his time and political capital trying to get teaching CRT banned in Virginia schools especially since that isn't something that's happening anyway.

Rhetoric matters, but subtance moreso, and Youngkin has pandered to the right-wing base as much as possible, albeit much less than Abbott and DeathSantis (though those two are from much redder states and have a red legislature - in VA, Youngkin is more limited in what destruction he can cause since the State Senate is 21-19 Democratic).

Clearly he's covered it up well, since he won by 2 points in a Biden+11 state, and somehow has a positive approval rating in a roughly two-thirds left-wing forum.
