He's basically me but an elitist snobbish libertarian neckbeard atheist from California instead of an elitist snobbish arch-conservative raised by religious Christians (and Mormons) from the South, so he's almost certainly an FF when it comes to his personality.

His views on religion and religious freedom are abhorrent, however. I agree with him on a fair bit, but our views on religion are so vastly different that it doesn't even begin to compute.

Smart as heck, and  a good writer to boot, but I wish he were more interested in serious discussions, rather than drive-bys. Winning is not  only the only thing. but not even necessarily the best thing, if inimical to facilitating wisdom in the public square. Granted he may not consider this site the public square in any meaningful way, but a clown car cul de sac, and nothing more, and thus nothing is left but hit and runs.

FF. I would agree that he sometimes can come across as "smug" or sure of himself, but his posts are generally substantive and he brings a needed perspective to the forum.
