As someone who knows plenty of rich people plenty will want to be taxed more if it helps those in need.

Biden Tax Plan is really an improvement. The vast majority of tax breaks go to lower earners and taxes start rising once the filer makes $1 million or more a year. We've been in dire need of a more equitable tax policy for decades.

My practice is doing well enough that I anticipate my family household income will be about 200 K this year. I think in central Ohio that puts me beyond upper middle class to modify the rich. Therefore, please allow me to introduce myself as one of those rich people who would gladly see their income taxes go up in order to supportGovernment initiatives to encourage greater economic equality and opportunity.

When Sandy Cortez loses a primary in 2020 when she's pushed into a district with another incumbent I will laugh myself sillyu, then treat myself to Prime Rib at Outback.

NYC is going to lose seats, and I doubt AOC is the incumbent the Legislature can't wait to protect.

(In addition to not knowing what year it is), you, uh, haven't been following the New York redistricting saga, have you? The plan is to move from a 19-8 map to 23-3. They aren't planning to draw 2 Democrats into facing each other.

I believe that NY State has requirements for contiguous districts.

AOC's biggest threat would not be in a GE; it would be in a primary.  If the primary were close enough, a primary loser who had the nomination of a minor party could well prevail if the new district contained more of the other incumbent's constituents than AOC's.

5 pages, eh?  That figures.  All this outrage about AOC attending the Met Gala, you'd think she spent $150 million of taxpayers' money to play golf at various resorts she owned.

Also, is Fuzzy ok?  That was, what, four brain farts in fifteen minutes?

How do you know this? And can't AOC troll them without enjoying a $30,000 night at the gala that's provided for her by underpaid servants?

The Met Gala is one of the most publicized and photographed events of the year. The media attention is unparalleled.

What do you think the Met Gala is all about?

It certainly was regarding trump at least. That guy's brain has basically a collapsed souffle  Since even before he was elected.

Standard Republican projectionism, though. I mean, As Exhibit A let's look at the fact that they tried to present Biden's occasional difficulty with personal space boundaries as making him some sort of Chester the molester, while Trump of course has an extremely well documented history as a bona-fide serial batterer.

That's great. I just want people to live by the standards they set for everyone else. After years and years and years of hearing socialists whine about how unfair it is that the rich get to sip champaign at exclusive parties that are staffed by low-wage servers, it'd be nice if they didn't all attend those same events once they make it big too.

Is what on Earth is wrong with her attending a black tie gala? Yeah she served her time literally. And it's not like she doesn't spend, you know, her full time, or more likely time and a 1/2 job fighting 247 against economic inequality and lack of economic opportunity. The fact that she can let her hair down and go to a party doesn't prove Jack.

Give me a people's upset definitively, what type of person Seriously believes that part of believing in economic is being an economic equality and a quality of opportunity is opportunity, and accordingly revamping our tax code to make it more progressive in the meantime meantime, requires living some Spartan joy is Spartan joyless lifestyle?? If she were going to these parties on a nightly or even weekly basis you might have a it might have a case. But come on, this is just performance art.

Oh of course, AOC is very much the personification of perfection. I recognize that she, much like Jesus Christ before her, is dedicating her life to uplifting tens of millions (perhaps even billions if we include her global Twitter outreach) of people. I realize that I have no place criticizing an elected official, but I just think that it's a bit hypocritical to hang out with the high society people when she's built a brand out of being an everywoman. I could never possibly comprehend the 3D chess that she's playing here so I suppose I should just place my faith in her and put my criticism aside.

"Tax the rich" huh? Wow, so daring, so brave...

We live in an age of the most unfettered downright dystopian wealth inequality the world has seen yet and this is the supposedly most "radical" slogan coming out of American politics? Just to "tax the rich", and this is what has them shaking in their boots? Pathetic

This was my exact reaction. She's at an event known for being provocative, why not go with the meme phrase "eat the rich" Huh

I haven't checked. How many pages did the other day's breaking Milley story have on here in comparison?

I guess it's a damning testament to what people care about in this country. We're talking about Ocasio-Cortez's dress and Nicki Minaj's tweets still while we've already moved on from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs taking it upon himself to prevent the sitting President from causing a military conflict to stay in power just last January.

How many times must it be pointed out that she wasn't there to socialize and rub elbows with the rich? Did you not hear about the dress she was wearing?

Dude, are you OK? I merely pointed out quite correctly that fighting for economic equality and making the rich pay their fair share of taxes does not remotely mean one cannot go out to a fancy dinner party now and again, and you responded with….. This?

I don't want to keep beating a dead horse here, so let's try a different tack. Can you describe for me what an appropriate way for her to promote change in the tax laws would be, in your view, that wouldn't be a selfish / hypocritical indulgence?
