I too broke my 700 day absence today, and it was absolutely magnificent. What a comeback (that should never have been needed), what a game, what a life! This is all I need to keep existing, inject it into my veins week-after-week.

I guess we'll hold off on canning Coach for a few weeks, but he probably deserves it for the uncreative offensive strategy and the lackluster halftime speech that clearly put the team into a momentary coma.

How were the GameDay pickers so foolish to think it is impossible for Florida State to start 0-3? What year are they living in? I thought that was an easy pick, and I have limited faith in Wake Forest this season. MSU is definitely back, and FSU definitely ain't. How hard is this? We were screaming at the television set on that one. Do these people watch the games or black out and think an old one was last week's effort?

Maybe we can get another Michigan State Iowa Big Ten Championship game!

Does anyone understand what happened with that punt in the Memphis-Miss. State game?  How was the ball not downed and the play over?

I've been thinking so for a bit. MSU still worries me. The whole East is narrowly above average. I'm afraid Michigan is the best of it but can you trust them?

Because the refs are an absolute disgrace. The SEC will give us an apology Monday, as if that's some kind of consolation.

I'm generally not one to blame games on refs, because there's always a lot of random stuff happening and no game comes down to 1 play, but assuming no miracle comeback, this game is on the refs.

This was the second big game for one of my teams in which my team outperformed but lost in a heartbreaker. Bad!

Absolutely sickening. Mississippi State earned a win and the referees objectively and indisputably took it away by blowing a play dead and then letting Memphis run in a touchdown afterward.

I like Memphis and picked them this week, but there is no doubt the Bulldogs were screwed in that game.

Well, honestly, how often does that happen?  I don't ever recall seeing such a penalty.

South Carolina tried to get a little too cute there.  With 30 seconds remaining before halftime, Georgia downed a punt at the 1.  Instead of playing it safe to run out the half, the SC QB dropped back for a pass -- and was sacked for a safety.

Here's the play if anyone wants to see it. Pay special attention to the referee blowing the play dead after it's downed. After the play, the announcers went on and on about how confused they were that the referees could have possibly allowed the touchdown to stand.

It's just sickening to get screwed over by own our conference like that. And all it does is make the SEC look bad for losing to a G5 team and potentially costs the conference some bowl revenue if we end up 5-7.

I guess I'm happy the conference admitted it, but it doesn't really make me feel any better.

After 700 days, I'm finally going to return to Dudley Field tonight!  A little rain (and a flash flood watch) won't keep me out tonight!
No in-person game for me today, but I got to listen to this one — something right about college football on the radio during a long drive (to Santa Cruz and back for me).

Rough one, but our crowd was at least way more into it than what I saw in 2019.  Clark Lea wasn't left with a whole lot, so he's going to need a couple years to get us competitive.

I'm at the Rose Bowl watching UCLA get dismantled by Fresno State. It's an exciting place to be!
