Bloomington has top cultural amenities even for a college town. (e.g. music) There's too much sprawl in the Indy area, even if there are some objectively decent parts of the city and burbs. Louisville is a good city, but the Indiana burbs of Louisville are pretty terrible.

I actually got an airBNB at some german sounding place outside of Evansville with a bunch of my friends a few years back and that place was excellent, even though we mostly just got drunk and hung out in the hot tub.

but that experiences means if i was going to live in Indiana it would have to be Evansville tbh

Isn't Evansville the fattest city in America?

I remember reading that Muncie was the most average town in the US. As for me, maybe Bloomington?

Obligatory reminder to everyone that Lake County (while in dire shape) offers far more than just Gary.

Northern Indiana has some cool stuff like the Dunes, but we're getting too far into freezing-my-balls-off-territory here.

Crown Point wouldn't be a terrible place to live. I've also dropped someone off at the Merillville Planned Parenthood, but that's not such a great place.

Fort Wayne, with Indianapolis second. Muncie is full of meth, and Terre Haute is just as bad with meth, though it tries to present itself as a "college town"

Greatly depends what college I can or can't get into. Bloomington seems nice, though I wonder what non-college amenities it has. I thought Lafayette was a college town, though it seems I'm wrong. Indy probably has more career opportunities.

Indy.  My sister has lived there for several years now, and it’s a very underrated city.
