Basic rundown of the rumors and the basis for them here. The idea might be to beat Mitterrand's term of office.

Of course, he himself will be lucky to serve more than one term at this rate, but it provides a worrying avenue for someone like Panzergirl to Hungarianize French public life in the future if this goes through.

And a protest is already assembling in front of the Palais de l'Élysée

I'd move to France, even despite their hellish politics, if re-enacting memes from 2008 was standard Thursday activity.

Honestly, things are at a point where I would support anyone against Macron. He’s showing his true colors now that he’s comfortable in office.

The French bombing of a WEDDING in Mali, killing 19 civilians, was absolutely cruel and hypocritical. Western nations deserve what will come to them if they keep up with this.

If this was done in France (or any other Western country) these people would be called terrorists. Shame on the French government.

I’m surprised he isn’t the First Consul yet.

Would he have his own Incitatus, though?

I could see this become true if Macron gets reelected next year. Dude always stroke me as someone who's kind of arrogant.
