Lmao

Nice one.

I had always assumed that the lyrics were just random fillers and that the meaning was all a pun on the virginity of Our Lady (Madonna in Italian). But I just found out it was written by two men and that originally it had nothing to do with Madonna. So I guess my answer is neither.

I've never seen Reservoir Dogs or listened to the song "Like a Virgin."  I have, however, listened to "Like a Surgeon" probably about 100 times.

Like 95% of all American pop songs, a Jewish man in his mid-40s probably wrote that song, with zero insight from a womyn's perspective or life experiences.

Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly were both in their mid-30s when they wrote it. I have no idea if either is Jewish, although the former has a Jewish surname. And it isn't clear to me that they wrote it with the idea of having it sung by a "womyn".

The new term is "womxn."
