Oh boy, this is looking increasingly awful.

Amazing how basically ~50-55% of Japanese voters will vote for the incumbent government every election no matter what, and the rest don't even bother coalescing around the main alternative. At this point it might be the only non-sham democracy where no one is ever in the mood to throw the rascals out.

LDP wins Okinawa 3rd.  Big upset.  There were talk of local businesses interests shifting their support to LDP this time.  That seems to be true.

it wouldn't be a tie, pretty sure only approx. vote totals are used before counting is completely done for a city, which is when the exact vote totals are known.
