Technically we could just do $1,400 checks which add up to $2,000 when combined with the $600 that is currently going out. I think that is what Biden was proposing, actually.

So typical for him to make himself the center of attention like this.

Massive HP, routinely voted for HP legislation that weren't vital to his legislation. 2k checks are popular in WV and he's still a scumbag about it.

His legacy is a hack who became Cecil Underwood's lapdog so he could screw over the WV Dems and advanced his own career. Now he's in the Senate with a record of multiple garbage votes and he's still willing to deprive people of money they desperately need to stroke his own ego.

What a garbage human being. Go back and tell Fox News all the legislation you're going to block, Joe.

Several Republicans supported it, though? Like Hawley and Rubio? Hopefully they keep their word, although with Trump on his way out they might not care anymore.

Not good enough! Like someone else said, we can get Collins/Murkowski/Hawley to vote for it.

Hopefully this gives Manchin an "out" to go against this very public opposition to the idea. Not sure what he's thinking.

Maybe tell Hawley we will drop this talk of expelling him if he keeps his promise on the checks.

Beneath contempt. Biden needs to somehow convince Susan Collins to join his cabinet so that Dems can pick up her Senate seat

We have Romney, Murkowski and Collins, but it doesn't surprise me, the whole Stimulus deal is to get people to vote, most people haven't gotten their 600, and some people have. Stimulus checks are a sham

If Manchin won't even support a $2k stimulus, there's zero chance DC statehood is happening.

Manchin is the best you're gonna get out of WV. Compare his voting record to Moore Capito's.

this is a good idea.  if she's gone Dems definitely win it.  Jared Golden for Senate.

Why do such poor states elect such anti-working class politicians? I knew KY had this problem but not WV. I would expect Hawley Republicans and Sherrod Brown Dems from these states, but it's not the case.

Yup, I called it.  And all the red avatars said I was a “hack” for suggesting Manchin exists to give cover for Senate Dems to not act on progressive legislation, lol

Time for Hawley to put his money where his mouth is.

I mean Hawley still supports it but if Manchin won't support it you still need 60 votes. Manchin isn't overturning the filibuster to pass legislation he opposes.

Reconciliation allows the Majority to pass monetary policy without the Filibuster

this presumes every Republican would vote no.  I am not sure that's the case.
