RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT! THERE IS RAIN IN NOVA NOW FOR REAL!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

I guess Davison is inevitable in Seattle as well, since it's supposed to rain this afternoon.
Isn't it always raining in Seattle?

GOP is now saying we don't know how people voted.  That's true.  But part of their rationale for why Youngkin would pull this off was "lack of enthusiasm" among Dems.  That's simply, objectively, based on actual turnout reports, NOT panning out.  If anything turnout in Dem counties and cities is going to exceed 2017 levels (when everyone said Dems WERE enthused).

It really is not healthy to be reading this thread (or any e-day thread) before polls close. We should have learned our lesson last year.

This is Atlas! This thread will go nonstop for ten straight hours from now and I wouldn't have it any other way Purple heart

I mean, it's still not healthy. But it is simply the way it's done.

LOL. How many many times we heard that "democracy will be over" if Democrats don't get their way?

Every win is a revolution, every loss a stole election.
Easy way to see if election is stolen
Is my candidate winning? It's not stolen
Is my candidate losing? It's stolen, democracy is finished
If Biden loses Wyoming in 2024 then it's time to ready the pitchforks.

Big, big NoVA turnout is surprising me a little bit.

Is there any reason why polls close so early in VA? 7PM doesn't leave much time for the after-work crowd.

Used to be a very restrictive state (no early voting either) and they haven't changed that aspect.  It wont impact people as much this year though because so many (especially in NOVA) are working from home.
That, and the fact Ds have passed laws to make voting easier than ever in VA.
That double-wammy is why we see turnout likely to increase this time from 2017.

These results should make one thing very clear to the media and the GOP

This is not the Obama years anymore and the era where Dems just stayed home during elections are over thanks to Trump

Yeah, I don't think that 15K turnout from Wasserman is happening.

I've been saying this for a while now.  The shift of suburban voters and particularly college educated whites has been devastating for the GOP.  These are the most reliable voters.

The kids who voted Obama the first time have gotten married now, have houses, jobs. Of course they'd be likelier to vote.
These people voted out a bunch of R delegates in 2017, and they look set to help T-Mac a lot this year too.

This + the fact that white college + folks are not a Republican demo anymore. In 2009 and 2013 they were, and they always come out to vote. But they are Dem skewing now.

The only thing we can gleam right now is turnout in very R or very D areas, where we know there probably isn't a lot of crossover.

The thing is, we're getting virtually no turnout reports from super Trumpy/R areas

Not to mention there's a lot of churn in NoVa, especially in the world-famous place known as Loudoun County. Ultra-liberal folks. Loudoun went from 173k in 2000 to 415k today. Most of those moving in are liberals and D-leaners.

(BTW, did you know that Atlanta gets more annual rainfall than Seattle or Portland?  Really true.)
