A little off topic but can you change your avatar? You're the least-libertarian libertarian I have ever seen lol

how so?

I don't get that either. Some of the most anti Trump people I know are libertarians.

Which makes sense. Trumpism is about as anti libertarian as one can get.

I support individual freedoms, small government, and personal responsibility.

However, I don't support selfishness couched in "individual freedoms" e.g., like not wearing a mask even though it's a public health emergency.

I am not really a libertarian though I just don't like either major party.  But right now the Democratic Party is far better and far less corrupt.

I'll point out the Wisconsin ballot challenges are pretty pointless, since the recount isn't mandatory if it isn't completed by December 1 Wisconsin will just be certified with the original totals.

What Sean Parnell and Mike Kelly are doing makes me sick. This is an all-out assault on liberal democracy by the Republican Party.

It's not going to work, no court is going to change the rules of the election after it is held, and the PA Supreme Court is 5-2 Dem.

Yeah, still disgusts me.

Speaking only for myself, I think Trump's campaign is entitled to recounts where permitted by state laws and do think it's fine to let the recount process play out. However, I'm starting to actually get angry about the post-election Trump show. This is clearly not about the integrity of our elections, it's about tossing out any ballots that are likely votes for Biden.

Coincidentally, I'm going to be out of town in January and actually am voting by mail for the runoffs. If Perdue and Loeffler don't come to their senses and disavow this show soon, they can count on two votes for their opponents in the GA runoff when my ballot arrives.

Didn't they already call for Raffensberger to resign?  I mean isn't that already past the pale?

That was also pretty shocking. The Perdue / Loeffler attack on him offended a lot of people in this area - even some Trump voters I know were shocked. Raffensberger actually was a pretty low-key, popuar city councilman in Johns Creek in North Fulton not too far from where I live and he's pretty traditionally conservative.

So if I'm understanding things right, this next Georgia recount will just be a machine recount?

Well, not be rude, but i don't understand why you still give them an "out" at this point.

Well I was really hoping for more of a debate on their policy visions and being able to vote on that, not on the basis of Trump. Doesn't seem like the Trump factor is going away though so I guess it is what it is.

Sorry, but I have to chuckle at the thought of Kelly Loeffler discussing policy. She's running a white grievance campaign with a hefty dose of "anti cancel culture" beyond that she stands for nothing but her pocketbook.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree. Loeffler seems to be tacking even further to the right with some of her rhetoric. The only two messages I've heard from the Rs are 1) Biden/Kamala are socialists so we need two more Rs in the Senate, 2) Trump losing was a fraud.

If they're trying to win back the votes of suburbanites like me that voted for Biden, I can tell you it's a losing message.

Yup.

Trump should have waited til Tuesday to request if his only goal now is delay.  Sounds like if they start on Monday it could end really quick.

The point is to:

1) give him an excuse for another lawsuit, praying that this time they can get a friendly judge who will nullify Wisconsin electoral votes. (Part of the larger "throw the election to the House strategy".)

Failing that, it gives him,

2) an excuse to whine about how he was robbed for the rest of his (hopefully very short) life. "They never even finished the recount! I was robbed!" (Just never mind that his people deliberately slowed down the recount in bad faith.)
