Susan Collins would, unironically, be a fairly good and qualified Transportation secretary in a Biden administration.

She's become such a hated figure to Democrats that Biden would never dare select her for his cabinet. The way partisan Democrats talk about her, one would guess she's about on par with Graham or McConnell himself.

I can't stand her either, but if every Republican was more like Collins the Party would be much much different.

The way I feel about Collins is complicated. I wouldn't say I hate her, but I'm endlessly frustrated by her. I don't think she despises America or anything, but I don't understand her thinking or reasoning, and I wish she'd lost her Senate seat.

For those reasons, I wouldn't want her in the cabinet. But not because I hate her.

Someone was asking earlier about how many Arizona votes were left.  Here's some info:

I'm praying for Trump. I realize that he lost the race and has to have the moral and mental strength to do what is right for our country. I want a fair and accurate count of the votes but once that is done I'd hope Trump accept what is right.
How can you say that?! Time and time again, he has shown he will not accept a fair election result, and definitely hasn't shown any sense of having the moral and mental strength to do what is right for our country.

They literally called the race for Trump. There's no way to 270 for him with Biden winning in Pennsylvania.

I wonder if his approval rating plummets now that Republicans realise he isn't a winner and take a less rose-tinted look at his record and flaws.
That would be an interesting scenario. I wonder if in this scenario, if  they would support a Trump run in '24 or '28. And then that brings up the possibility of his kids running for office. Would they support that in this scenario?

6000 vote glitch in Mich. Could be definite ballot harvesting going on. Dem turnout was way higher cause of mail voting.

Why would Collins want this job? Is being Secretary of Transportation a more powerful position than being the median US Senator?

Maybe he could offer to appoint her to SCOTUS if she votes for court packing.

Stupid question probably, but don't you need to have a degree in law to become a justice?

Surprisingly, you do not.

99.5% confidence is an absurd standard that they haven’t used before and for that matter weren’t using when they made their earlier calls.
And PA and Georgia have likely both passed it by this point.

99.5% is the standard that has been used by decision desks for many elections now. They were using it when they made the earlier calls.

If the Fulton County, Georgia reporting problem is specifically about the ballots counted Friday as the SOS stated, there were just 3612 provisionals and 900 overseas ballots counted that day.  That is not enough to overturn Biden's lead even if they went unanimously for Trump.

Does anyone have the nationwide county map yet?

There are 8-10 million votes left to count.

Only in mid-December would a map like this make sense.

Fair enough. I should clarify and say *who won the county*, not margins of victory of percent of vote. A simple blue and red map at a national scale. I'll dig around for one.

Overall it's still a sh**t network, but kudos that at least their news and their online divisions stand very clear in not indulging in any of Trump's ludicrous conspiracy theories. Hopefully, this will help make the transition period a bit easier too.

I've found their daytime news reporting pretty accurate and bipartisan. If only they'd toss the evening talk show garbage out. Hannity, Carlson, etc.  They won't, sadly, because these shows give them the ratings.
