Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Trump would have won the state by a narrow margin (15k votes or so) if he had done as well as Kemp in rural/small-town GA (especially in the North and Southeast), right? There were clearly some Kemp/Biden voters.

Yes. This map is 36 hours old (explains Atlanta and Savannah "swinging R") and I'll update it tomorrow, but it frankly speaks to...well, perhaps I'll just let people draw their own conclusions for now.

The Donald bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat.

And he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Jimmy’s feet.

Jimmy said, "Donald, just come on back if you ever wanna try again,

'Cause I done told you once, you son of a bitch, I'm the best there's ever been."

Sorry Beto. I still love ya, but I think Stacy Abrams just won herself that Employee of the Month parking spot at the White House (or DNC headquarters)

Funny I was just about to post how everyone on Atlas hated on Stacy Abrams (including myself!) while praising Beto for his Texas campaign... very glad that Biden's campaign ignored Beto's request for a visit & went to Georgia instead.

I gotta admit that I didn't know much about her GA outreach as I did Betos outreach in TX. I would've easily said he was doing a superior job as soon as 5 PM PST on Tuesday.

Also, I found a lot of the negativity towards her during the VP search very unfair. I'm glad she's completely turned that around in the last 72 hours.

Stacey Abrams would have made a very good Vice President, whatever it is that the Vice President does...

The smaller cities in Georgia did swing towards Biden, but by much less impressive margins than the Atlanta metro.

Chatham (Savannah) Clinton +15 => Biden +18 (3 point swing)
Richmond (Augusta) Clinton +32 => Biden +37  (4 point swing)
Clarke (Athens) Clinton +37 => Clinton +42 (5 point swing)
Bibb (Macon) Clinton +20 = Biden +24 (4 point swing)
Muscogee (Columbus) Clinton +18 = Biden +24 (6 point swing)

This map feels futuristic. I love Democratic Georgia, even if it has to be an island of sanity. So good the dumb GA takes took a mortal blow this year, while poor Texans have to wait years for trends to be proven real in their state.

Figured Georgia would vote to the left of Florida, but to see that confirmed to this extent... Must be a political sea change in southern politics. Georgia will replace Florida as the prime southern battleground.

The trends in South Texas didn't help.

Donald Trump to suburban women "please love me."

Atlanta and its suburbs to Donald Trump "we hate you."

LOL, my man, you're still here.

I have to admire the balls it takes to show your face around here after all you've said. It takes some modicum of courage at least.

The egg on my face can be washed off by celebratory champagne when dictator douche Don is booted from the White House (if only those effing senate canidates could have won. even just one of them)

It might keep zooming left due to demographic change though. It remains to be seen how the post-Trump Republican Party holds up with suburban voters and whether it can repair the damage.

I like how Pulaski County, Arkansas (Little Rock) voted the Libertarian over Tom Cotton by a double digit margin.

Maybe, but Trump can't hold PA unless they stop the count literally now.

I’d say GA and NC. I’m still really disappointed that Biden couldn’t win NC as well.

I am, too. He should have visited more. He only came, like, three times? Trump was here every damn weekend. He was here an annoying amount.

Dems winning NC is definitely possible. We just reelected our fairly popular Democratic Govenor by a 4.5% margin (And he's likely to get 5% as more votes come in.)

I think it just has to be the right kind of Democrat and the right kind of campaign—like what Obama did when he took NC.

Now we just need AZ and PA to definitely come through so we can get that 306-232 map.  That would be such sweet poetic justice to a man who has caused an American nightmare from the man who will wake us up from it.

Though to be fair, given his complete at utter contempt for democracy, he 'should' have done much worse than 232...

No.  The MI lead is 150K.  I don't see any scenario where that could flip back.  WI has a lead of ~20K.  I'm sure they'll try to recount it but I don't believe a statewide recount in WI has ever yielded a change of more than ~300 votes.  PA is likely to not be very close in the end.
