I've got to say, 2020 may be the very last time the Democrats run on a "Midwest strategy".

A "sunbelt strategy" might be the way to go from now on.

Demographics are changing and the Democrats need to stop running old white men and women on the ticket.

Except Kamala Harris is not an old white woman. I'm now convinced that Biden made a mistake by selecting her as his running mate. He should have gone with Tammy Duckworth, Cory Booker, or Julian Castro.
What was Kamala even supposed to add to the ticket?

Biden "owed" black voters.

One of the worst VP picks in recent memory, and Tim Kaine was only four years ago! She absolutely hurt the ticket.

Is this true
75% of the 1.4 million mail in votes that still need to be counted, not necessarily 75% of all the votes still needing to be counted.

Yes.  There's 26% left, and Trump leads by 13.  Biden needs to win 19.5 - 6.5 of that remaining 26 to make up the 13.  That's a 3-1 margin, or 75%.

How did Biden not run on a sunbelt strategy?

No. His entire campaign revolves around trying to win back MI/WI/PA.

But D's underperformed

They were supposed to get a Supermajority Senate and win the Prez by 334 minimum

Well if Trump wins, he can claim victory over Pelosi botching the stimulus package which was held up deliberately by Pelosi for D's, you don't play with consumers money.

She still has a House but it's no good now without Senate and WH

She should lose the Speakership

I agree with this. Though if Trump wins, he'll still want to pass a stimulus package but he can play hardball now, I would fully expect Trump and Mitch to start bumping heads.

Kamala’s not the reason for this underperformance. Hell, we don’t even know if it’s Biden’s fault yet. All we can do right now is wait for every vote to be counted, see where the chips lay, and then engage in deep introspection as a party about what we stand for and where we wanna go in the future (which we were denied this year by Bernie & Biden refusing to retire).

Perhaps they thought she could appeal to moderate suburbanites and to nonwhite voters, but Harris is disliked by many minority men, and her policies as California AG were (and are) deeply unappealing to progressive voters, who view her as a member of the neoliberal establishment. Harris also doesn't have the most charismatic personality, to put it mildly, and comes across as fake in many of the same ways as Clinton. I believe Tammy Duckworth would have been a much more genuine and serious running mate.

Lieberman was a terrible pick too and Biden isn't really the best either.

I think it's pretty clear now that, no matter who wins, the 2024 Democratic strategy is going to revolve around winning GA + NC.

I think the ME-01 electoral vote has been called but the state at large is still not called according to NYT.

Pelosi passed a COVID relief package months ago.  It was Trump who tweeted out that he wouldn't negotiate with Pelosi under any circumstances until after the election.  Then he backtracked, and asked Mitch to come to the table for a compromise bill, and Mitch refused.

As usual, Mitch is absolved of all blame for situations where he's entirely responsible.

I swear the revisionist history of this election already being written is gonna drive me batty.

Trump is an idiot for trying to claim victory early. It's abundantly likely he has won legitimately and those kind of antics only delegitimize it. Nothing good comes out of this.

Ngl this pleasantly surprises me.

Shapiro has never been a Trumpist, and he has criticized Trump frequently when he believes that he is wrong. This is another instance of him doing so.

I've just been checking calls on Fox since they don't take as long to call things.
