lol

The left is not going to get far if it keep believing in the delusion that a majority of voters are closet progressives who are just waiting to cast their ballots for Bernie Sanders or AOC.

- 63% support for a 15 Dollar minimum wage
- 66% support healthcare for all
- 63% support tuition free universities

Those are vague and it isn't the expansion of the welfare state that turns voters off, it's the anti-market stuff (bad for business, overregulation, killing industries) and the smash the system stuff (defund, abolish, etc) that's utterly toxic. Plus positively identifying as socialist.
The left is a minority faction of a party that represents just over one half of the country, with some of them having particularly huge demands.
No wonder they end up disappointed.

I know this sounds concern trollish, but could the reason behind the lack of a call be that a ton of the outstanding PA vote are provisionals and military ballots and that we aren’t quite sure how they go?

Kind of crazy how Trump did better with non-white voters than any Republican nominee since 1960 and still lost!

I believe Bush in 2004 won 45% of the Hispanic vote

For those talking about NY shifting right, remember these are to come:

My state is extremely slow at counting votes. So people shouldn't be so quick to say how shocked they are that Trump flipped Nassau County and NJ voted to the left of NY.

Congrats again on your party's overwhelming success in taking the Senate and passing most of Biden's legislative agenda.

It's generally agreed to my understanding that it was closer to 40% than 45%, Cubans were heavily over sampled, as much as I love them.

Better than George Bush 2004?
With everyone but Hispanics I think so.

George Bush did reasonably well for a Republican with African-Americans in 2004. I think he got into the low teens in Ohio and that wasn’t atypical.
Trump got 35% of the Hispanic vote nationally according to the exit polls and Bush got 40% so bush did slightly better with Hispanics but iirc according to the exit polls with POC in general Trump did better than any republican nominee since Richard Nixon in 1960

Are you really reading a statement along the lines of "the left's disappointed because its demands are so big and in politics things tend to be more incremental" as a direct insult to the left? Are you content with hewing to the characteristics of a strawman?

Kornacki just explained why PA hasn't been called. There are about 100,000 mail ballots outstanding but we don't know how many will be counted because many could be spoiled in some way (this is happening in counts so far) so we can't just assume Biden will net 50K from that. There are about 100,000 provisional ballots outstanding which is 4 times higher than in 2016. So far they have leaned Republican in PA (unlike in most years), possibly because the voters were bringing in mail ballots to their polling place on election day and don't have the envelope. Not clear how many of these will be counted or if they'll all lean Republican.

I think the question here is as follows for both sides within the Democratic party is fear. Why did Bernie have so much better appeal to Hispanic voters? Was it simply a matter of campaign emphasis execution / infrastructure, or was it more substitutive in terms of policy and fundamental message? If a mix, to what degree does contribute oh, and more importantly how can it be applied to Future campaigns?

Dear CraneHusband, congrats on your wing being unable to message basic policies that otherwise would appeal to literally 60% of Americans because of repeated insistence on stupid slogans such as ACAB, Democratic-socialism, and purity tests.

Dear Blairite, congrats on your wing being stuck in the 90’s and having the most tone-deaf platform out of anyone in 2020. Also congrats on not being able to pass anything since 2010 and on falsely believing on compromise when the Overton window keeps shifting right because your wing is too spineless to stand up for its ideas.

And to both of your wings, congrats on alienating millions of Americans by engaging in the stupid cultural wars and not focusing on the economic issues which affect Americans the most.

One also has to consider the fact that Latinos in the Dem primary are hardly representative of the wider Latino voting public as well.

That does not sound promising.

Fortunately Biden can still win through NV and AZ but this is not good at all.
