Okay I just need to rant about this to someone I don't know. My uncle tested positive today after not feeling well since Monday. He didn't tell my cousin who came over to my house. I only saw my cousin for about forty five minutes because I went to work. However, my uncle who's an anti masker won't go get him tested. He probably had it this summer but he doesn't know because his dad wouldn't get him tested then either. I haven't seen my uncle in a month. So now my entire immediate family has potentially been exposed and we're all just waiting in the balance.

Thankfully I have access to rapid testing at work but no one else in my family does and we still won't know if we're completely clear for two weeks, potentially throwing Christmas into chaos.

Excellent decision!

We also need to stop giving the vaccine right now to people who have already had covid. All the evidence suggests that they already have immunity that is at least as effective as the vaccine, so this is just wasteful during a time in which we need to be thinking mostly above maximizing efficiency of spreading immunity.  They should get the vaccine, but only once it is widely available to everyone.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/post-infection-coronavirus-immunity-usually-robust-after-8-months-study-shows/2021/01/07/d7d369a6-511a-11eb-b96e-0e54447b23a1_story.html

The state of GA told my grandparents who've had it will be at least April before they get it and my grandpa is over 75.

Just curious, has anyone around here gotten the vaccine? Wondering the range of side effects were. One of my brother’s friends got it and said all he had was a sore arm. Hopefully getting mine next month.

Anybody else who’s young fine with waiting on getting a J&J? I might be able to get one of the others starting next and if I get offered on, I’ll definitely take it but I don’t need the efficacy of the others and the one shot and done sounds much better.

There's absolutely no reason to wait for any vaccine; get the first one that's offered to you. They all prevent severe disease, hospitalization, and death.

Like I said, I’m going to do that if I get offered one. I just won’t be heartbroken if I have to wait for the J&J.

I’m waiting right now to get my shot and somehow I think I’m the only person in this line to have been born in the ‘90s.

My shot is in a couple of hours. I wonder if I'll feel the same.

The lady who’s in front of me keeps looking at me weird like I’m not supposed to be here. I’m a teacher, I swear I’m eligible.

Start up a conversation and tell her you're so excited to be getting the shot so you can get back in front of your students.

Almost like clockwork for the 24hrs after my shot, my arm stopped hurting. I had a bit of sore throat last night but I’m not sure if it was allergies or a reaction to the vaccine.

Was that your second shot?

I got Moderna.  My first shot was no big deal, just some arm pain.  The second shot...at about 12 hours later, I got a fever, really bad chills, and body aches.  I also could NOT sleep that night.  The next day, just the body aches remained.  The third day was just a slight headache until around lunchtime and then I felt normal again.

Small price to pay for having some protection.

It was my first. I’m a teacher so I became eligible Monday. I personally would have picked the J&J but I got the Moderna.

I’m getting my second moderna Tuesday. I’m hoping by the time my two weeks is up the guidelines will be changed for mask wearing after being vaccinated. I’m a teacher and I’m a week ahead of the first of two mass drives the county made for schools staff so I’m guessing they’ll keep requiring masks throughout the end of the year. Ofc I’ll wear one if it’s required in stores and stuff but I won’t elsewhere.

I know this guy is a moron but has he never been to another country? At least most tropical countries make you show a vaccination card to get in. There’s no difference between Honduras making me show a yellow fever vaccine than there is Greece and a COVID vaccine.

No side effects so far other than a sore arm and feeling a bit lethargic.

That’s the microchip tearing at the cells in your bloodstream.

Just stand next to a 5G tower and download the latest updates, and it will stop hurting.

Next step is to call Bill Gates.

Why is he a grifter?
Do some research into him. His background is in nutrition, not diseases and he regularly posts bad information. Not too long ago he said something about how COVID can be spread by farts in a non joking manner.

We just need to approve the vaccine for kids above 12 ASAP. We have good data from the Pfizer trials and it’s clear the whole “kids can’t spread it” myth that a lot of people spouted out without strong evidence is clearly incorrect. Vaccinating all teenagers should be a priority by this administration.

Yeah, all middle and high schoolers need to be vaccinated before school starts in the fall.

JFC. I’ve been fully vaccinated for a week now and I’ve stopped wearing a mask outside but who tf cares if someone else does?  Also, our CPS systems are bad enough as is don’t burden them further with this bs.

Went to watch Godzilla vs Kong in IMAX today, it felt so nice to be back in the movie theater. Of course I’m fully vaccinated and wore a mask the whole time.  Things are definitely slowly creeping forward normalcy.

My mom and I went to Universal Studios a few weeks back for spring break. Second time on an airplane in a year (and I work for an airline that shall not be named) and it felt really good to go out and do something fun like that. I would have felt uncomfortable if I wasn’t vaccinated (they were strict on masks but not quite distancing) but I didn’t have to worry about it. The Hagrid roller coaster is ing amazing too.
