You know the really sad part of this story?  Regardless of its veracity, nearly everyone can easily see Trump saying everything he is alleged to have said.  We know the content of his character well enough by this point.

And we know the racist character of BLM.  The anarchist character of Antifa.  And the cowardly character of Joe Biden.

Why do you keep on repeating these messages? What about BLM, Antifa, and Joe Biden excuses what Donald Trump said here? And I've read your post elsewhere, where you state that you would still vote for Trump even if proof came out of him saying this. Like I've said, Trump supporters have dismissed this article as "fake news", and at this point, it's clear to me that absolutely nothing will deprive him of their support. Trump could throw a baby into a crockpot, and cook it on national television, and he would still get >40% of the national popular vote. He himself said that he could "shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose any votes." He knows that no matter what he says or does, his base won't abandon him-this latest controversy proves it, and it was also proven by the Mueller investigation, by his impeachment, and by the pandemic.

Right or wrong, Trump supporters feel like getting off the Trump Train now is equivalent to admitting that liberals (AKA pure evil) have been right about him all along, so they're just not going to be able to do it.

This story is already dead. A dozen named Trump officials denied this as well. None of the msm are talking about it today. Another hit and miss smear campaign by the media arm of the Biden campaign (who just so happened to have an ad ready right when the Atlantic posted its article)

This entire comment is trash and absurd, but if you really think "a dozen Trump officials denying" this would have any impact on it whatosever (what are they gonna do, admit it and say yeah it's true???) then you're just delusional.... but it appears by your comment you are anyway.

Unfortunately so. Would Fuzzy Bear and the other Trump supporters on this forum have been so dismissive if it had been Obama who said something like this? Hillary Clinton? Or Joe Biden himself? Absolutely not! They would have been demanding Obama's impeachment, or that Clinton or Biden drop out of the race. But because it is their President who said it, who they adore as if he were a God (of the Church of Trump), they either defend what he's said, or dismiss it altogether.

Unless something big happens, this story will likely be the news for the rest of the holiday weekend, and I'd be shocked if the networks and every major publication weren't working round the clock to find somebody that'll go on the record. At the very least, the moderators at the debates will directly confront Trump about this, and on the off chance that they don't, Biden sure will.

The real drip drip on this is John Kelly. The "will he or won't he" is huge and driving news coverage.

Absolutely unimaginable that the man would stay silent when Trump supposedly maligned his dead son, and then ripped him to shreds at his latest presser.

Time for John Kelly to move out of his MO that "former generals don't say bad things about the current Commander in Chief" and into reality.

We are not living in normal times.

Donald Trump got 4 education deferments to the Vietnam War and then his daddy made a deal with a Doctor/tenet to get him a final medical deferment. Trump has lied about getting lucky in the draft, this is nonsense.

There is also good evidence his admission into college was fraudulent. With his sister admitting that she wrote his papers and another kid likely took his College entrance exams. His "loser" brother Fred Trump Jr.(Donald and Fred Trump's own words) who was not a killer(again the Trump's worldview) actually got Donald into Wharton. Donald Trump was interviewed and recommended for admission by a man named James Nolan who was a classmate and close friend of Fred Trump Jr. Never mind that Wharton wasn't very difficult to get into back then, Trump still needed legacy and preferential treatment. Trump has also lied repeatedly over the years and claimed he graduated top of his class which is a clear lie since he was not even on the Dean's List.

Even the College Republicans here at PENN don't like to advertise that he's an alum.

Eeeek...that’s like the 90’s Chicago Bulls not even acknowledging Dennis Rodman.

It's not just admitting that liberals were right about Donald Trump. It's about trying to defend their worldview. We all have our quirks of personality and worldview. Things that we believe in with all our heart, but that others may find bewildering or flat-out wrong. That's part of being human.

But modern-Republicans had a worldview that was on extremely shaky ground to begin with. (Claiming to be "the Party of Life" while cheering executions. Worshipping the Constituion and the Founders while hating the equality our nation's founding principles lead to.) Donald Trump has amplified that, leading Republicans to reject core beliefs and adopt antithetical ones, until belief in Donald Trump's worldview of lies is the only thing standing between them and an abyss where they were wrong about everything and nothing they believe has any meaning.

What they need is stable path out of their self-created nightmare and back towards the land of objective reality. Whether they will find it, or instead choose someone who is better at lying than Donald Trump, I don't know.

If there is one thing I have made brutally clear, I am not going to get swept up in some us versus them mentality. I long opposed and criticized McCain's positions on issues, but many on the right used that as a excuse to be just horrible people. "well he was a Democrat in Republicans clothing anyway", so what? If he was registered Democratic that certainly wouldn't be acceptable.

It starts with this but it doesn't end here. When you start to debase your standards, it is like your currency, it gets worse and everything gets devalued. When you reach the point where everything is justifiable on the basis of sticking it to the other side, you have lost all claim to being any reasonable man's definition of conservative.

Principles are about restraint, not convenience. Principles keep you on the right path instead of straying off into the swamp because it looks like a short cut. When you opt for convenience, justify it on a partisan basis or us versus them, that is how you end up with the Constitution being run through a cheese grater, attempts to expand executive power (even while decrying the deep state), more debt then in the whole history of mankind and yes a crass disrespect for everything sacred about this country's traditions.

Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

The media has given us no reason to believe that this is true.

They owe us something a little more substantial than more anonymous sources claiming horrific things about Donald Trump in yet another bombshell, shocking, game-changing, disqualifying, walls-are-closing-in, Trump should be forced to resign story.

They owe us names. I mean, seriously, at this point, what is the downside of saying something negative about Donald Trump? Does anyone think that a person would suffer some level of political, financial, or social harm by coming forward and telling a story that would harm this man? In Washington, D.C.? Seriously?

It may well be true, but the media has given us no reason to believe them (other than wishful thinkng).  Not after the last for years of "game-changers" that weren't.

LOL, you should change your name to ProudDem2.
Our brave members of the military wouldn't have confidence in a commander-in-chief that can't tell the difference between his sister and wife, let alone read from a teleprompter without stumbling. They're also smart enough to know a smear campaign when they see one.

To the Trump supporters here: If you guys really are just gonna support Trump no matter what, just come out and say it. You don't have to twist yourself into a pretzel to defend every moronic or evil thing he says. Just admit you don't care, and want to see him re-elected because you agree with his policies. Don't pretend that the media takes things out of context, don't pretend that people get offended easily, don't pretend "muh both sides". Just admit you're willing to overlook indecency if it means your policies get passed.

The media has given us no reason to believe that this is true.

Maybe, maybe not.
But, trump (and all his past comments/behavior) has given us every reason to believe that this is true.

For the record, I fully believe that the vast majority of Republicans won't care even slightly about this story. Soldiers, like everyone else they claim to care about, are just a human shield for them. This will, however, hurt Trump's image even more and totally takes control of the narrative away from him in the precious few weeks before the election. Independent voters and potential third-party people will also likely be disgusted.

While "We didn't care about any of the other Trump scandals, so obviously we won't care about this one either," is a compelling argument, it sure doesn't paint the Trump Cult in a good light like Fuzzy apparently thinks it does.
