Yeah but it's not like there is a huge difference. According to the stats posted last page the rejection rate is 3% for whites and 7% for blacks.

Reason #3457 why the Dems' obsession with mail-in ballots is dumb.

If 50% of people vote early, and Blacks are supposed to make up 50% of the Dem vote, that 4% difference as an entire 0.5% Biden loses just from higher rejection rates for Blacks.

North Carolina is going to be really really close both at the presidential and the senate level.  Just losing 0.5% due to some stupid s--t like this isn't trivial at all.

There's a lot of time to correct the errors.  Democrats seem to be requesting ballots earlier than Republicans as a general matter so that strategic advantage might cancel out a bit.  I'd say it's safe to assume that most of the white votes being rejected are Trump voters as they seem to be coming from rural areas and college educated whites who are voting Biden are probably more likely to fill out the forms correctly.

Democracy flourishing after years of suppression is a beautiful sight.

As has been pointed out, a lot of the focus on absentee ballot rejection rates fails to take into account the number of people who would otherwise not have voted at all, and the rejection rate of people that try to vote/would try to vote in person.

Virginia in general has been like the state equivalent of a phoenix since the Democratic trifecta took over.

Just enough to fudge the election.

And it doesn't change whenever someone fixes their ballot.

Good thing then that they have been alerted already and have the chance to rectify any mistakes and make their ballots count.

That's amazing. Awful that they have to do that but they know at this point, it just needs to happen.

This doesn't surprise me.

The same thing happening today in VA can be seen in Vienna for the state election there on Oct. 11

People are voting early there to avoid more crowded precincts on election day.

In the US, the postal sabotage by Trump is also adding to it.

Still, you cannot necessarily say that there will be higher turnout because of it - because there could simply be a rush of early voters and then it drops off in the next weeks.

The crazy thing about those Fairfax lines is that we don't even tend to have super long wait times in Fairfax on Election Day (in the vast majority of precincts).  This is 100% about people who hate Trump.

582 ballots have been returned in Wisconsin. I'll have my first set of analysis next Tuesday. Douglas County is actually leading the pack with 76 returned ballots.

Calling it right now: Biden breaks 80M and Trump breaks 70M.

I THINK that map looks like a tentative positive development for Democrats, right?
