Curious about Billie Eilish's performance, and I wonder if her performing could give Biden an increase with young progressive voters.

In my experience, it won't really make a difference either way. Billie Eilish is quite popular with people my age, but I don't really see anyone specifically deciding to vote for Biden because of her performance.

I am going to watch Bill Clinton's 1992 DNC speech, and Obama's 04 and 08 DNC speech.

Scheduled for tonight here:

Am I reading this right? Harris is speaking after Obama? I had heard it was the other way around.

Yes, they changed it. Obama will speak, then Harris's sister, niece, and stepdaughter will introduce our next VP.

I'm not surprised. As I've said elsewhere, Obama has a very high opinion of Harris, and she is similar to him in many ways. So it wouldn't surprise me that he would want to provide the "prologue" to her speech, if you can call it as such.

Picking four actresses as hosts was a solid choice. They're naturally suited to being compelling on TV.

Gabrielle Giffords, she has sacrificed much. Very upsetting.

(Ugh why does Eilish need to be here, she's going to ruin the moment soon)

Really hope Mark Kelly wins in November — I’m sure it’ll mean a lot to Gabby Giffords.

I'm really impressed with how much Giffords' speaking ability has improved. Granted they are prepared remarks recorded ahead of time, but that is the closest I've ever heard her sound to her pre-2011 self. Hopefully she'll continue making progress.

She’s going to be partially paralyzed and probably have trouble with speech for the rest of her life. Her recovery has been amazing, but it would take a miracle for her brain to rebuild those neural pathways.
