Oh cool. Now we get to hear from the guy who lied to the UN about Iraq.

While obviously true, I would guess he is still far and away the most popular figure from the Bush presidency.

That's a very, very, very low bar.

I don't think you're wrong at all. I do think that outrage is unconstructive and you'd be better off if you calmed down a bit. And I don't think that guy showing up at the DNC actually matters one way or another.

Fair enough. It's clear you didn't mean any harm. I'm not gonna bitch at you for nonconfrontational light ribbing.

I'm actually pretty calm right now. Just needed to get that frustration about Lynch out of my system, hahaha.

Who would have guessed ten years ago that an entire prime time lineup for the 2020 DNC would include the architects of the Iraq War and a tribute to John McCain haha

The Iraq War ended nearly a decade ago and has stopped being a relevant political issue. This is like suggesting having pro-Vietnam War people at a 1980s DNC is some big "gotcha."

Democrats have always liked John McCain when he wasn't in a general election against a Democrat. They liked him attacking George W. Bush in the 2000 primaries; Kerry considered him as a running mate at one point to troll the GOP; they liked him sticking it to evangelicals like Huckabee in 2008; and they liked him destroying Republicans' pitiful attempt to repeal the ACA in 2017.

And Powell lying to the United Nations?

Note the operative phrase:  “Who would have guessed ten years ago”

And you have to admit there's something uncanny about Democrats parading around political appointees from the George W "Adolf" Bush administration.  That's a level above run-of-the-mill pro-war Democrats

Was Joe throwing some sort of shade when he said "Lady, Lady, Lady"? Jill would certainly run circles around Melania as First Lady. That "I Don't Care" coat pretty much summed up who she is.

The DNC so far has been a smashing success.

And I had quite low expectations.

Even if Colin Powell might not have been my top choice for this, I guarantee you this is the part of the show that makes it so that we don't have to worry about winning Virginia in November anymore.

Mfw someone suggests Virginia is competitive in 2020:

Who would've guessed ten years ago that 99% of Republican elected officials would become Donald Trump's bitches?

Celebrating a COVID spike to own the libs.
You are a real charmer.

Pot meet kettle.  Celebrating COVID  to "own" Trump and the Republicans has been a hallmark of yours (and several other liberal posters) for months now.

What a sickening thing to say. The presence of people so low on this forum and in my country is an embarrassment.

A complete lack of empathy has become a common characteristic of Republicans these days

Night 2 of the convention has concluded.

My favorite speeches of the night:
- Dr. Jill Biden
- Sally Yates
- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
- Ady Barkan
- Jimmy Carter

Butbutbut...Trump! Sad

Hope you’re surviving Greece’s COVID-19 spike.  I guess thinking y’all had beat the Americans was a bit premature.  Thoughts and prayers

Jill Biden will be one awesome First Lady.

And I loved that they invited Bishop Budde to do the prayer.  Perfect shade at Trump.

I don't think anyone should be surprised that John McCain's widow is throwing her support to Joe Biden. After how Trump treated her husband, would you blame her? And Biden's long-time personal friendship with the McCains is very well known.

I haven’t seen one Democrat celebrating covid.

I would give up my vote in November if I could somehow be guaranteed that my sweet grandmother wouldn’t contract it.

Covid is something we should all agree on, and our president’s response to it or lack thereof is something we can all debate.  But no one is happy covid is here and no one is celebrating anyone’s deaths.

Ya know, not the way Trump and his administration celebrated John McCain’s impending and eventual death.
