Can't believe AOC complained about only getting sixty seconds when literally every speech has been 30-60 seconds.  I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she didn't know all the speeches were going to be similarly truncated.

I really wish Sara Gideon got more time.  Biden, Cunningham, Gideon are the three most important races.  Then again Cal Cunningham may not get to speak at all.
AOC didn't complain one bit. She even responded to the original report on twitter about it good-naturedly about making her minute count. She doesn't need the benefit of the doubt or excuses like she doesn't know what she is talking about. She's one of the savviest most informed politicians out there.

I thought she complained about only getting sixty seconds, but I may be mixing it up with thousands of people complaining on her behalf.

I do know she picked a fight with John Kasich earlier today, literally the least helpful thing imaginable.  That Republicans for Biden segment was executed pretty flawlessly.  I felt Kasich's speech had a bit much meandering mush, but that's what you get from him these days.

Doug Jones is a good man. Too bad he will be replaced by an idiot.

Great speech by Kasich.

Doug Jones speaking at the DNC probably just torpedoed whatever slim chances of reelection he had.

The best part was when it ended.

Getting Cortez-Masto to talk about vote by mail makes so much sense, given her state, that I’m amazed it hadn’t occurred to me.

Maybe you should sit this one out if you are complaining about a woman politican whining and not knowing what is going on when that plainly wasn't true.

Even what you "know" is wrong. Kasich ATTACKED her in a buzzfeed interview. She was responding. But I guess she should shut up because she is a complainer who doesn't know what's going on, right?

Speeches have to be a lot shorter in this format because when people are watching online they can just close the window when things start to drag on and do something else.

If you're sitting in an arena listening to an hour-long stemwinder, you don't really have any choice.

Klobuchar and Buttigieg have been brought to speak in succession. The latter's projected win of SDEs in Iowa has also been acknowledged as an outright victory.

Grab your popcorn! Both the convention and Twitter are about to be on fire.

Kasich specifically talked about her first, and AOC was responding to it. And what she said was absolutely correct - Kasich is union busting and anti-choice, and has no business talking about what the future of the Democratic Party should be.

AOC should've gotten as much time as Kasich. He did very well though. That will be in a Lincoln Project ad.

Can we please not derail this into the 500th "Moderate Leftists vs Far Leftists" thread of the year? Or give more attention to this monolithic "Red Rose Twitter" that Atlas loves to give a giant spotlight to?

Democratic unity!

Quote
“I think both parties have to have new ideas, and I think this country is moderate,” said Kasich, winding up to a gentle criticism of Ocasio-Cortez. “People on the extreme, whether they're on the left or on the right, they get outsized publicity that tends to define their party. You know, I listen to people all the time make these statements, and because AOC gets outsized publicity doesn't mean she represents the Democratic Party. She's just a part, just some member of it. And it's on both sides, whether it's the Republicans or whether it's the Democrats.”

This is the mildest criticism of AOC I've ever seen.  It's not even a criticism.  But she looks for any opportunity to "clap back" and get Twitter likes.
