Depends on your definition, of course. Lots wouldn’t call Biden a Christian because Catholicism is supposedly a Roman death cult, and even if it’s not he’s a baby killer. Trump is nominally a Christian and pays a ton of lip service to the religion, but it’s also pretty obvious he doesn’t understand any tenets of the faith. So both? Neither? Depends on your definition. (I voted Biden, for the record.)

Yup, nothing more Christian than gassing peaceful protesters for a photo-op holding a Bible in front of a church.  Wink

This, but I don't think Trump has ever thought about it hard enough to actually identify as either of those terms. In fact, I would be pretty surprised if he even knows what "agnostic" means.

Biden is a devout Catholic, while Trump is probably an agnostic or atheist, and only uses religion for political purposes-to maintain the loyalty of conservative Christian evangelicals, long an important bloc of support for the Republican Party. In this respect, he is similar to Ronald Reagan, who was also personally non-religious and again, used religion for political purposes to cement the Reagan Coalition in the 1980s. Following down this, Biden, you can say, is in this respect similar to Jimmy Carter, who is a devout Baptist.

Both are self-identified Christians and probably both believe they are good Christians even though Donald Trump seems to have a very flimsy understanding of faith.

To be honest the "Donald Trump is actually an atheist" thing gives me an unsavory throwback to the conspiracy theories about Obama being a Muslim.

That’s dumb, because those conspiracy theories (which Trump partook in) were blatantly racist and completely unfounded. Whereas Trump never has shown any kind of religious inclination, understanding, or temperament at any point in his life. It’s not clear he’s ever been to Church for more than a handful of obligatory public appearances (and one very infamous photo op). He can’t quote a Bible verse. He mispronounces the name of his supposedly favorite Bible book. He claims to have never asked for forgiveness once in his life — yet prayer, repentance, redemption, and humility are the fundamental values at the foundation of Christianity. He has lived his life as a sleazy, cheating, lying, possibly raping hedonist who is basically the embodiment of the seven deadly sins. He is the antithesis of practically all of the Bible's and Christ’s teachings about empathy for the poor and downtrodden, for immigrants and children, about the hollow and fleeting nature of wealth, temptation, greed, and earthly pleasures. He is quite literally “anti-Christ” even if he is not THE anti-Christ.

With all that in mind, it is really hard to imagine Trump understands or believes what Jesus and the Bible actually said. If he does, he rejects it. In either case, he is no Christian in any sense of the word. And apparently he has no fear of burning in hell that someone who has lived like he has really, really should.

Jesus talked so much about the need to end poverty and hunger and Roman's took from the poor in taxes and gave to rich, reverse Robin Hood and Reagan exacerbated this

That's why Ds use a mule, Jesus rode on a donkey. Rich people were the pharaohs that enslaved people

Biden, obviously due to Jesus whom was a poor Shepherd

Christian thought has evolved into our blue and red divide and being a Christian isnt all about faith, Jesus talked about poverty as well. That's why the Priesthood in all the religions are red and laity is blue. Catholics arent Republicans either, they are Dems, along with Red Cross and Salvation Army and the Bou and Girl Scouts, along with Lutheran Churches and Mormans do so much work for orphans. That's why Romney is a moderate.

That's why you have a Catholic pope that is red and Kennedys blue

Both. Biden is a Catholic like me, but he's pro-choice not sure they are compatible.. and Trump is Presbyterian.

I'm Catholic and my wife is Presbyterian.  And my wife follows the faith--like just about everyone in her church whom I have gotten to know through the years.  Believe me, Trump is no Presbyterian.
