Gohmert Says Violence Is Only Recourse After Election Lawsuit Dismissal
“Basically, in effect, the ruling would be you’ve got to go to the streets and be as violent as Antifa and BLM,” Gohmert added before being cut off by Newsmax host Emerald Robinson.
Gohmert gonna Gohmert, you can always trust him to say the stupid part out loud

He also said his attorneys are preparing an appeal to the fifth circuit court of appeals, which he said has “incredible judges” and might be expected to issue a more favorable ruling

The 5th circuit has had some pretty insane rulings during the Trump presidency, but even I can't imagine them touching this.

For the love of God, people, Biden won. Get over it already!

Are there irregularities that should be investigated? Yes, without a doubt. Is there any kind of evidence that those irregularities could have flipped a state? No! Are the Republican statewide office holders who supervise the elections in most of those states part of some grand conspiracy to deliver the election to Biden? Also no!

I don’t like that Biden is going to be president either, but the fact is he won and it’s time to acknowledge that and move on.

Nearly a dozen Republican senators announce plans to vote against counting electoral votes
Quote
The Republican lawmakers said they intend to reject the Electoral College votes from multiple states until an "emergency 10-day audit" of the election returns in the "disputed states" is completed. The group includes Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, James Lankford of Oklahoma, Steve Daines of Montana, John Kennedy of Louisiana, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, and Mike Braun of Indiana, and Sens.-elect Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Roger Marshall of Kansas, Bill Hagerty of Tennessee and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.

"A fair and credible audit—conducted expeditiously and completed well before January 20—would dramatically improve Americans' faith in our electoral process and would significantly enhance the legitimacy of whoever becomes our next President. We owe that to the People," they said in a statement.

They added that Congress' vote on January 6 is the "lone constitutional power remaining to consider and force resolution of the multiple allegations of serious voter fraud."

Not one of the Republican officeholders objecting to Biden's victory have objected to their own wins on the same day on the same ballots using the same election systems.

These deplorable traitors' statement is here.

Beneath a pretense of reason, they are using their own lies, treason, and attempts to steal the Presidency over the past two months as excuses for more lies, treason, and attempts to steal the Presidency. There are no words sufficient to fully encompass their evil.

Just realized Graham isn't on this list. After all that talk, he hasn't signed on? Seems pretty telling of his real beliefs.

Very true. Sort of wish someone would mention the fact that Loeffler (and Perdue though granted he couldn't vote even if he wanted to) haven't signed on yet to Trump.

Just because you make an outrageous, baseless accusation doesn't mean you get to demand a thorough investigation to fish for your allegations, at least not without providing some shred evidence.

If I accuse Trump of being a giraffe from Venus, do I get a "fair and credible audit" to see if he is? Or do I have to show some evidence first?

By not hammering home the message publicly that Biden won the election the Democrats have allowed Trump's poisonous "stolen election" idea to metastasize and now it's gained traction as the mainstream philosophy of the Republican party.

Trumpism is already the mainstream Republican party. These people aren't doing this because the Dems message wasn't strong enough--they're doing it because they're terrified of Trump saying bad things about them, or because they are fully behind subverting democracy to maintain power (or both).  If anything this tired message needs to be permanently retired as its just another example of nothing the Republican elected officials do ever being their fault in the eyes of Dems or Dem-leaners.

If the Dems failed in messaging it was pre-election, not sending the message to the ticket splitter voters the danger that they're allowing by supporting these people. But you get what you pay for when you pick somebody who openly says he doesn't want to see a defeated Republican Party.

So that's Sasse, Capito, Toomey, and now Murkowski who've explicitly said they'll affirm the results, in addition to fairly obvious votes to affirm in Romney, Collins, and the top leadership (Mitch and Thune), and probably plenty more votes to affirm who haven't made their intentions known just yet. Am I missing anyone?

This still sounds it's going to be at least 20-some senators voting in favor, which would make it the most controversial at this stage since 1876.

My "dooming" has been less that the vote will go Trump's way than the message it sends. 140 elected officials minimum voting against the official results of an election, along with minimum 11 senators is more than a little alarming.

Not to mention we don't know what sort of stuff the MAGAts are going to do between now and inauguration day.

Trump Plans to Fight the Election Even After ‘Stop the Steal’ Rally Ends
Quote
Two people familiar with the matter say that in recent days, Trump has told advisers and close associates that he wants to keep fighting in court past Jan. 6 if members of Congress, as expected, end up certifying the electoral college results.

“The way he sees it is: Why should I ever let this go?… How would that benefit me?” said one of the sources, who’s spoken to Trump at length about the post-election activities to nullify his Democratic opponent’s decisive victory.

Donald Trump, and all of his enablers, need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in order to make sure no future criminal tries the same sort of attacks on the United States.

18 U.S. Code § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy
Quote
If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Pence's COS: “The Vice President welcomes the efforts of members of the House and Senate to use the authority they have under the law to raise objections and bring forward evidence before the Congress and the American people on January 6th.”

Sounds to me like he's covering his ass for when he can't lawfully do what the Parler crowd wants him to do.

Gohmert really is the archetypal lickspittle, isn't he? Imagine suing someone to give them more power relative to yourself. Can't relate.

That didn't take long.

The 5th circuit has denied Gohmert's appeal.
