The question is, why don't Dems have any balls.  They need to not seat certain traitors in the house.  What election Democrats need to understand is that we elect them to do their job.  If they are too chicken**** to do it, retire and let someone who will fight for their constituents get elected.

No. No. No. Refusing to seat duly elected representatives, no matter how awful, just because you have the power to do so is exactly what the Trumpists want to do to Biden. It won't work for them because a large majority of the country, including Republican politicians and judges, recognize that it's not a legitimate use of their authority. But if Democrats start doing the same thing, it legitimizes that tactic for both sides to do it. I really doubt you'd like the place where that leads.

I would like where it leads.  Because Republicans keep doing what they're doing because they know there are no consequences.  The second Dems stand up to them they'll cut the BS like any bully.  Dems need to stop acting out of theoretical principles and fight for their constituents.

Republicans don't respond to these sort of political consequences by stopping what they're doing--they respond by going even further than anybody could've previously imagined. This is no different than slapping a rabid animal with the expectation that it'll know it's done something wrong and stop doing it.

This is just a conservative activist's tweet.

She is actually a liberal who pretends to be conservative to get GOP politicians to open up.

really?  that's hilarious.

Yeah, here's her response to Trump thanking her in a tweet:

I wonder how much of grace period Twitter is going to give him before they suspend his account.

Hopefully the first one that would require one of those markers grants him a timeout, and after that hopefully they ban him.

Even Fox News has run clarifications on the Smartmatic claims, and they have the resources to withstand a protracted lawsuit that could easily result in a big award against them.  Newsmax (or OANN) doesn't have the same kind of resources, and could be put out of business if they don't back down quickly.

even if that's true, here's the issue.  The Republicans are going to do it no matter what.  One side can't unilaterally disarm.

Lets take gerrymandering for instance.  Dems have the same philosophy you just stated.  "Just because GOP does it doesn't make it right!!!"  What's the end result?  CA and VA and a bunch of other Dem led states have commissions and GOP states have gerrymandering.  In practical terms this means Dem constituents aren't adequately represented in congress.  This a real world consequence, not some theoretical argument about the fairness of gerrymandering.

Lets say the GOP gets even more "rabid" if Dems gerrymander.  Welp there's only a handful more seats they could possibly gerrymander where they have control.  Point is.  The GOP already lies, cheats, and steals as much as they possibly can.  There's no such thing about gentleman's agreements with the GOP anymore, because they're not gentlemen, they're literal traitors.

What's this thread about?  It's about Trump claims that Democrats "stole" the election that he is literally trying to steal as we speak.  Lets all wake up to the reality that GOP elected officials are a threat to this country and that Dem politicians need to treat them as such.

Looking at today's tweets, he's still going after court cases, trying to browbeat judges into ruling in his favor, and trying to go after the "state legislator coup" (even though it's too late for that). It seems to me he's backed off the coup/martial law/putsch thoughts a bit. Maybe the media coverage on that scared him.

Another possibility (that others have mentioned) is that he tried to feel out support for a putsch and found that it has little.

Either that or he sounded out some of the generals about it and was told to get bent. Or both.

Trump is unstable. He could crack up at any moment. He needs to be removed by the 25th Amendment and let Pence oversee the transition.

Even if it were, there probably aren't enough Republicans to vote to decertify. They only have a slim majority.

When will Trump work out that judges are not meant to be personally loyal to him?

There's not really anything even the most hackish judge could do at this point anyway, the Electoral College has voted.

How much is the government now going to have to spend on police protection for that guy because of Trump's baseless tweet?  Trump is basically a domestic terrorist agitator at this point.
