Georgia's Republican (!) Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger says that he has not seen any evidence of widespread voter fraud in his state's presidential election and also doesn't anticipate a hand recount will change President-elect Joe Biden's victory there.

Like so many cult leaders before him, Trump seems to be holing up in his compound to avoid facing justice. The only practical difference between him and the Branch Davidians is that the Waco guy had fewer wives.

Quote from: HisGrace
These lawsuits are completely pointless. They're just trying to protract the process so they can say "look how many lawsuits we filed!" and create fake doubt. Filing a lawsuit and then asking for it to be dismissed a few days later after it received some news coverage is as frivolous as it gets. Everyone should stop pretending the election result is "disputed" in any serious way.
His strategy is not to win lawsuits, but to convince people that there is a giant election fraud going on.
Republicans don't need to win any court case, as long as the sea of fake news websites/channels continue flooding americans with this conspiracy theory.

- Monday Donald Trump announced on Twitter that he has fired Secretary of Defense Mark Esper

- Yesterday controversial retired Brig. Gen. Anthony Tata has been moved into the Pentagon's top policy role, taking over the duties of James Anderson, who resigned the same day.
Tata is a Trump loyalist who has trafficked in “deep state” conspiracy theories.

- Former administration officials with knowledge of the situation said they expect in the coming days D.Trump to remove CIA Director Gina Haspel from her post
and also mentioned some uncertainty about FBI Director Christopher Wray's future...

All this looks like nothing else but a last minute purge of US security top officials (Defense, pentagon, CIA) right after losing the elections.

All this happening along with :
- a massive communication effort trying to convince americans of a giant fraud.
(phone sms, emails, social networks, conservative TV/medias)
- a majority of republican officials backing Trump in his refusal to concede, Mike Pompeo who even went as far as saying "there would be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration”
- the fact than Federal agencies, have been warned not to cooperate with the transition team of the projected president-elect.
- the omnipresence of right-wing armed groups and right-wing militias everywhere in the country

All this looks worrisome, like a coup attempt in the making, nothing less.
(I'm not not saying it will succeed)

Not the least bit worried. Most of these people would have been out of a job in about two months when Biden comes in anyway, and the Schmucks replacing will only be in for that time frame. Why I'll never underestimate the Trump administration's ability to commit evil and / or incompetence even in such a short time, this is the dying gasp of the vindictiveness and dumpster fire level mismanagement we've come to expect from Trump's Administration.
Well I hope you are right.
Although if I'm not mistaken, some of these positions (like Micheal Ellis at the NSA) are civil service positions, therefore it could be difficult for the next administration to remove or fire the persons appointed by Trump? (at least not right away)

What a RINO. Didn't he get the message? The new narrative is that Biden "stole" the election, period.

If Trumpians are going to offer financial rewards to people coming forward with evidence of fraud, what's to say that this, in itself, won't be fraudulent.

When there's no evidence they can sure as hell make things up. Pillocks.

Yes. I've posted similar stories by Associated Press and Washington Post (same leakers?)

Also, it is easier to justify 2024 run, if you say, your presidency has been stolen  Wink + Tongue

Oh, anybody who believes that Trump is doing this because "his supporters deserve it" is a grade A moron.

The logic is that his supporters deserve a reason to keep sending him money.

Even if this is true, I wish Trump could have found a way to "fight for his voters" without demonizing his political opponents and accusing them of election crimes they clearly didn't commit. But I guess that's the only way he knows how to fight for someone/something, by insulting or slandering the opposition.

That’s all well and good but preventing GSA from signing off on a transition makes this a serious real decision and not theater.

It’s a con that becomes reality. That’s his whole presidency. The campaign was a con that became a presidency.

This is a COUP that is a con (grift — look at them pocketing their dumb supporters’ $) that could become reality. Take it seriously. He thrives off everyone considering his actions a joke. That’s how people spoke of him in 2015.

Board liberals should stop getting so enraged by Trump's tweets about election fraud and just enjoy his mental breakdown.

This.

Maybe, right now, this is nothing more than Trump trolling the libs, milking his supporters, and giving a middle finger to Biden, while Republican leadership sits around and hides indulgent smiles behind their hands. But even if that's true, it's letting a toddler play with critical masses of plutonium and thinking it's 'cute'.

What happens when Donnie Dumb**** convinces himself that he both can and should remain in office? What happens when an armed mob of his supporters seizes a state capitol, and he dogwhistles support for them while doing nothing? What happens when his desperate, faithful believers run head-on into our archaic electoral processes and break something? What are the future outcomes of convincing tens of millions of people that our government is illegitimate? What happens when a cabal of his criminal associates decide the country going up in flames is better than going (back) to jail?

(Personally, I suspect he's making that last calculation himself, and will be, at a minimum, trying to "deal" (in his characteristically awful fashion) for both immunity and as much grift as his can stuff in his pockets.)

I have to say that "stop the steal" is garbage. It sounds like a caveman grunting something.

Lawsuit filed in Green Bay to invalidate all votes in Milwaukee, Dane and Menominee counties due to fraud and the mail in votes “overwhelming” election officials. Supposedly a lot of secret witnesses. My eyes can’t roll back any further.

Where are the cons whining about the tax dollars that are being wasted on these court cases?
