I hate to nitpick, but I don't like that Trump has a 42% approval rating in this poll. It seems way too high given the current environment.
This has consistently been one of the best high-quality pollsters for Trump. 42 is his lowest approval in this poll since early 2018.
What was the early 2018 dip caused by? That feels like 25 years ago, so my memory is hazy.
The whole border thing with kids in cages, although I might be wrong.
Pretty sure that was the summer of 2018. December of 2017 was pretty bad for Trump overall so maybe that was just a leftover from december, otherwise the only thing i can remember early 18 is Bannon getting fired but i'm pretty sure that was good for Trump.
