Are you planning on doing anything about those who try to be one of the NPC legislators?

I mean, it has no legal or practical weight behind it as these offices are not playable, but I can issue a formal ruling and reach out to those involved (not sure if it's more than one) so as to formalize it.

Also, polls are to be posted tonight.

Good poll. We might actually be able to make a play for Alaska with our all-in on Alaska campaign.

Since a month is a long time in the game, would it be possible to get mid-month polling as well to get an update on how campaigning is going/where each side stands?

Sure. I'll do my best to update polling at the mid-point (August 17th).

Since I recieved a message about this, friendly reminder that targeted registration in one of the states up for election is not going to lead to positive outcomes.

the target is Fremont, nothing more, nothing less. I just tell people to register in the state that comes first to my mind.

Have been very busy or outright exhausted - hence why there haven't been GM updates this week -, if mid-point polling isn't up tonight (hoping it will), it will be up tomorrow.

Thought it would help to add the change in vote share from the last poll, so parties get an idea of how campaigning is impacting the race.

As a request of sorts, will we get updates as to what happened with the governments of the states; in particular those that ended in hung parliaments?

Ftr here are the list of hung parliaments in July, as well as my rough guesses:

CO: Labor minority, propped up by Greens and Liberals
AZ: Labor-Green coalition
VA: Fed-DA coalition
NYC?: Fed-Lib coalition
IL: Labor minority, propped up by Tricolor and Peace
RI: DA-Fed coalition

Of course I suppose it also depends on the party leaders Tongue

It is linked in this pinned thread: https://talkelections.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=363295.0

I actually had this pinned for a few hours but I realized since we no longer have the DoFE pinned, it was hard to justify pinning this. We have a lot of pinned threads on here already, hence why I created a noticeboard of threads that is pinned in order to compile a bunch of important threads without having to pin them all.

I have not moved to remove any of the other pins since I am not sure which ones are dictated by statute. I know the DoFE thread was removed by such methods IIRC.

Official Green Party Announcement
Liberty & Justice For All

The Green Party regretfully announces an early end to our Green-Labor NPC partnership. There has been a smear campaign going on and some red-baiting. Uniform support of Labor in Fremont will be impossible in this current political climate. We aren't going to shut the door on working with Labor again, and in fact we will still be in coalition with Labor in Arizona. Perhaps we will be able to get along together sooner rather than later.

Any chance of getting another round of polling a week out? They really seem to draw activity to the elections and let the parties realise what they're doing right and what they're doing wrong. Not to mention they let parties better coordinate their campaigning.

I can try for Monday, but I can't make any promises. Game Engine priority goes to trying to get out a pandemic update on how the states are doing, which quite honestly is going to be a pain to work out (starting to think I'll eventually need a deputy given how much there is to be done)

A public request of sorts, if anyone made a map of the last House election or has the data of who voted (and was kind enough to send it), it would be really helpful to ensure I can calculate the results faster next weekend. Otherwise I'll have to struggle for a while to sort that part of the calculations out.

I regret to say there won't be last minute polling, partly because the COVID update was too draining, partly because there's only four days left. However, I have marked almost all events thus far and we're headed for a very fascinating scenario if they hold.

Fantastic to see people have taken this so seriously! Keep up the good work, gentlemen, some of you are close to recieving most interesting results.

Maybe NPC elections only get based off the registration and the results of the last federal election? Because given how the polling dictates where parties focus, it seems a tad unfair for the results to suddenly completely change in the final week after the very random state-level results of a federal election.

The shift is not decisive, but it is a factor that I do prefer taking into account. It's not like accounting for the House results will force parties to win or lose 10 points, but I think there are compelling arguments for their inclusion as opposed to taking into account earlier results.

Among other points, it makes more sense to consider more recent results as opposed to an earlier election in several of the parties contesting the NPC didn't exist, or where parties that were more prominent then have lost some of that relevance. Not to mention that in RL elections which take place soon after another tend to be influenced by that (case in point: Britain and the local/european elections shortly before or after a GE).
