This kind of stuff really backpedals all of the progress that the MeToo movement has made over the last few years, which matters a hell of a lot more to real victims of sexual harassment and assault than a crappy primary outcome.  Biden should not get a free pass on the inappropriate touching, nor should anyone, but exaggerating or outright lying about a person's alleged misconduct hurts far more than just the person who is the target of it.  If the left intends to win by making these dishonest and distracting claims about people instead of focusing on the issues they claim to care about, we deserve to lose.

The thread in question reports the allegations as if they were credible, getting a quote from Christine O'Donnell herself claiming Biden was there. However, only by tweet 5 does the reporter start addressing the fact that Biden wasn't at the dinner where Eva Murray claims Biden harassed her. He was at home recovering from surgery. At tweet 9, we find out Biden sent a video message instead.

This entire story is insane, and it just sets #MeToo back even more. They didn't think when concocting this story that it would come out that Biden wasn't even there? The frustrating part is that it's now proven false, but that didn't stop far lefties (and Law and Crime.com) from running with the story anyway and muddying the waters for people who may see it on Twitter who may not be plugged in as we are.

Also, shame on that reporter for writing a whole tweet thread acting like it was true only to say in the EIGHTH tweet that he was never there. Journalistic malpractice.

I'm not sure the reporter is going to post about the story again. While I have issues with how she reported the allegation, she did find out Biden was not at the event and Eva Murry appears to have made up this entire thing.
