If anything the numbers go the opposite direction. Kind of like trying to use support or opposition to slavery as a judge of racism in the 19th century. I would wager that a number of people who are passively accepting of same sex marriage but are homophobic is far higher than the number of people who not homophobic but against same sex marriage. I run into it among younger millennial and Gen Z males all of the time at work. Gay people scare the hell out of them.
EDIT: I should also add that this thread has convinced me more than ever that most forumites have never actually spoken to other humans in Real LifeTM.
I think I have met some of these "humans in real life".
