Not interested in arguing with the Internet Research Agency, it’s beyond dispute that community spread in the U.S for months while Trump downplayed the crisis is why so many people will needlessly die.

You just claimed you thought it would be hundreds or thousands deaths with Hillary. Not even the Internet Research Agency would spread such disinformation even though they're working overtime trying to sow discord  in US with baseless claims Tongue

Wow, look at the tracker today. Nearly every state seeing decreases in new cases compared to yesterday. Looks like the tide has turned more quickly than anyone expected and Trump has saved the country from disaster, expect a big approval bump.

Hopefully, but it could also just be the Sunday/weekend effect that we've seen before.

Nate Silver appears cautious, too

One day is hardly a trend here. The same happened weeks ago in Germany and I actually thought it might be a gamechanger, and the rise hasn't stopped yet despite contact ban. To see trend emerging, this needs to be the case over at least a week. It can also be assumed the increase drops on weekends because less people go to work.

In ID classes, we were taught that a pattern can be considered significant after 4-10 days.  (The range is so broad because it depends on the illness, along with a bunch of other factors).

If a troll makes a post and everyone has them on ignore, does it make a sound?

LOL.  Definitely not; you're more of an anti-troll.

I believe a "llort" is a cryptid half-bear/half-man beast that is said to prowl the bogs of Wales.

That tracker you're citing may not be entirely accurate:

Coronavirus death toll: Americans are almost certainly dying of covid-19 but being left out of the official count

As if we ever come close to to accurately counting deaths from the flu or other respiratory viruses that primarily kill older folks with serious preexisting conditions.  There’s an almost unanswerable argument here about how to code these deaths in people who are really sick - does blaming the coronavirus or the flu (or anything else) for the death of someone who would have died in a few days from a severe underlying illness make sense?

My mom and I were supposed to go to Amsterdam the 20th but decided to go to Berlin instead because the German government's website was much more helpful and the attractions are opening back up the 19th.

MAGA tragedy played out in real time, quite sad. Also been reading reports of people going to the hospital sick, being diagnosed with Covid-19 and fighting with Doctors to give them the medication Trump talked about in his speech.

This is not the way to conduct healthcare even in a pandemic. Doctors are professionals and will use all tools available to them to save lives. They don't need people coming in with a politcal agenda undermining them. What a mess. I really hope these anti-malaria drugs actually work.

Here's a pretty good and easy to read general explanatory article on epidemic models:

With your “logic” I should be able to shoot up a ward of terminally ill cancer patients and not be classified as a murderer.
