His campaign has cancelled 3 rallies in the past few days. 1 in Kansas City, 1 in Rockford Illinois, and 1 in Mississippi. What is going on?

Either that or he's winding down his campaign early on account of how insanely far behind he's fallen.

He's redirecting everything on Michigan. Not sure how you don't know this, perhaps Atlas is falling behind.

It's obvious he is going all in on Michigan. It's a must-win for him.

Those rallies have been replaced by rallies in Ann Arbor and Dearborn, as well as a new town hall in Detroit. Doesn't take a genius to figure out why. There's been no reduction in the overall number of events, so he's not "winding down" the campaign. He also does not have coronavirus.

Looks like he knows Michigan is do or die. Probably down single digits in his internals and desperate to win at least one big state on Tuesday to keep the donations coming in until the debate.

Yeah, he might really be out after March 10th, assuming he doesn't win Michigan.

I think he might. People bring up him continuing after March 15th in 2016, but he at least got some delegates from every state, and came very close in two states. If he's way behind in every state on March 17th, and possibly in danger of failing to hit viability in Florida, he might want to spare himself the embarrassment.

Sanders won't drop out. He'll go all the way to June like he did last time.

Sanders won't drop out. He'll go all the way to June like he did last time.

He was also consistently winning states last time, such as MN, ME, and MI.

Full pot is on Michigan. Campaign phone calls & texts also honed in on Michigan. If Bernie takes it, it'll be HUGE for his narrative.

He was also consistently winning states last time, such as MA, MN, ME, and MI.

Hillary won MA in 2016.

He has shaky health. He might drop out if he doesn't take it easy on his heart.

Sanders won't drop out. He'll go all the way to June like he did last time.

To quote what I posted here:

Sanders on what happens if Biden wins the most delegates:

https://www.newsweek.com/bernie-sanders-will-drop-out-if-biden-gets-plurality-coming-dem-convention-1490614

Quote
"If Biden walks into the convention, or at the end of the process, [and] has more votes than me, he's the winner," said Sanders, before confirming he would concede whether the lead was a majority or a plurality.

It's quite possible that Biden will have mathematically clinched a pledged delegate plurality (if not majority) after the April 28th primaries.  Were that to happen, if Sanders sticks to this, he's almost got to drop out at that point, no?  He's suggesting that he would concede defeat in such a scenario, so not sure it makes sense to continue on with his campaign for another month+ if he's committed to conceding defeat at the end of that month.

As others have said, Bernie may be triaging Illinois. The problem for him is that he needs to win as many states as he can in the primaries in order to keep the donations coming to his campaign.

Honestly, Biden's probably the presumptive nominee at this point. It's clear to me that his base is more motivated to vote, and he has the momentum. I expect Bernie to drop out pretty soon if he doesn't win Michigan, because there is no other way he can stay in the hunt.

Sanders has retreated to what he thinks is his Michigan redoubt.  I knew about Mississippi and Missouri, but I suppose his cancellation in Rockford means that all his chips are in for Michigan next Tuesday.

If he loses in Michigan, he's not going to win Illinois or Ohio (and forget Florida and Georgia).

Sanders isn't going to drop out until after March 17th at the earliest. He wants to have 1 v 1 shot with Biden on a Debate Stage where he can finally go after Uncle Jo.

That's the big Difference between 2020 and 2016. In '16 Bernie had at least 3, 4 Debates with Hillary alone where he could tear into her.

Yes, this is his play. Last time, the Michigan shock allowed Sanders to spin that things were not that bad, and that he was able to justify continuing into the primary, which had a larger tail end than this year's primary. Once again he is placing his eggs in one basket, albeit a decent one. Michigan has plenty of college towns and Sanders this year can count on 90% of the vote from the Arab/Muslim community raising his threshold in Wayne. However, I'm not sure he can expect to win  if he's losing the rurals and losing suburban Oakland/Macomb/Kent by the surging numbers we might expect. IF CNN's board shows another Biden sweep at the end of the night, it will be hard for Sanders to justify continuing, even though he desperately wants that 1v1 debate to try and change something.

Eh he also flipped NV and CA though this time around, so it's rather even.
