Man this is close. Bernie is getting destroyed in rural New Hampshire.

No, it's the rich Boston exurbs that are anti-Bernie. The rurals are pretty split.
He's losing a lot of the rural counties though.

Looks like Buttigieg and Klobuchar will be competetive in trying to become Bernie's Veep, after this showing. Both of them are younger than Bernie and he need youth.  As predicted, Jane Sanders was a soccer mom and NH females coalesced behind her

Genuinely curious if MissScarlet is happy Amy did so well, or frothing at the mouth that Pete almost won.

He's losing Belknap and Carroll 25-23 and Sullivan 26-23. Hardly "destroyed".

OSR unironically thinks that Obama probably wishes he had lost in 2012 to save the country from Trump. He’s an unwitting troll not worth engaging.
Heck sometimes I wish Obama had lost, but then I realize that Trump is a symptom and not a disease.

True as that is, no President would ever, EVER want to go down as a failed one-term President who lost re-election.

CNN at 84% reporting while DDHQ is at 82.5%

First time in the night CNN's reporting has beaten DDHQ to the punch?

Winning a neighboring state by like 1% which is what it looks like is not impressive at all. Pete can just as easily declare victory. Bernie supporters are really annoying. You guys are delusional. I like the guy as a person but he seriously is not a great general election candidate and Americans will NEVER elect a socialist. Center-right or Center-left always wins.

...upthread I expressly said that this underperformance was making me reconsider Sanders's overall chances. Please don't be such a pill.

OSR unironically thinks that Obama probably wishes he had lost in 2012 to save the country from Trump. He’s an unwitting troll not worth engaging.

Obviously Obama would have preferred two terms of Romney who probably was the most moderate nominee since 1976 vs a second term where he barely got anything done then(and the things he did where reversed by Trump) and then followed up by Trump
That's probably true, but he'd prefer Clinton won in 2016 over any of that, so...

Sanders is going to win, but he can thank Klobuchar for saving him from a disastrous night.
To be honest it wouldn't be improbable that Klobuchar actually also took away a bit of Sanders' support, along with larger chunks of Warren's, Biden's and Buttigieg's. Remember voters are morons.

Not disputing that, but if he really wins by less than 2 points, it’s hard to deny that Klobuchar's strong showing probably made the difference.

Warren didn't get a lot, but when she does get votes it's coming from Sanders in some big areas.

...I know? But Biden received almost as much support as Warren, and Klobuchar won more than twice as many votes as Warren.

Buttigieg is taking from Sanders, too. New Hampshire voters don't get as excited for a candidate the the second time around, and Buttigieg is largely Liberal but speaks like a Progressive. That takes voters from Sanders. I don't think many Klobuchar voters came from Sanders to be honest.

The rurals aren’t really supposed to be split, though.

It’s pretty clear at this point that rural areas in Democratic primaries are essentially protest candidate favorable

Honestly this is about the best IA/NH scenario Bloomberg could hope for.  Now he just needs Sanders not to run away with NV.  A potential Steyer win in SC would be icing on the cake.

MSNBC projecting Bernie as winner. No surprises here.
