With these suburban results, I'm beginning to think that even VA might be a swing state this fall with Bernie at the top of the ticket.

Just like how in 2008 Hillary Clinton won PA, MI, and OH in the primary, and then everyone said "oh, Obama will lose in the swingy rust belt."

McCain was winning in OH before the economic crash and was close in PA i believe.

You mean the economic crash that occurred due to Republican policies?

Lol so Glass-Stegall was repealed under a Republican President or was the Community Reinvestment Act Passed under a Republican President. Yes much of Bush's policies contributed such as keeping Greenspan as FED Chair but it was bipartisan blame

Out of curiosity, OSR, would you support reinstating some version of Glass-Steagall?

Walpole seems to be an error on DDHQ, not that it matters much with a grand total of 32 votes, 21 of which are counted as Other. There may be other little errors like this here and there.

NYT has Buttigieg winning Walpole by ~2.

This also exposes a lot of Sanders's 2016 support as a reaction against Clinton, which might be relevant to remember as the campaign heads into areas like Appalachia and the Midwest

SN keeps saying Trump will demolish Bernie, and Bernie has lead in every GE poll against Trump

So probably a Sanders win, but narrower than his camp might have liked. How does this play out in terms of the media narrative? Unlike Iowa, the narrative won't be about the mismanagement of the primary. Will it be just straight "Bernie Wins"? "Buttigieg almost wins"? "Klobuchar surges"? "Warren and Biden collapse"? Really any of these narratives could create dramatically different environments heading into Nevada

The message will be a 2 way tie between Butti and Bernie with 9 delegates each, followed closely by Klobuchar... cnn/msnbc won't be calling it a Sanders win

Picking up 300 in Hanover and losing Derry? Yeah, Buttigieg isn't catching Sanders.

But... But George Bush and John McCain slashed high-end income taxes! That always always works to stimulate the economy! Reagan said so! LOLOL!

What next do you have to explain any downturn that occurs under a Republican party to have nothing to do with their policies, where is any growth that occurs there is clearly a result of supply-side economics? Shady International financiers? Phases of the moon? LOLOLOL!

Sanders is going to win, but he can thank Klobuchar for saving him from a disastrous night.
To be honest it wouldn't be improbable that Klobuchar actually also took away a bit of Sanders' support, along with larger chunks of Warren's, Biden's and Buttigieg's. Remember voters are morons.

Not disputing that, but if he really wins by less than 2 points, it’s hard to deny that Klobuchar's strong showing probably made the difference.

Sanders isn't even my first choice, but I'm not convinced his showing in the suburbs tonight will translate to the GE.
Keep believing that. Suburban voters aren't voting for a commie.

Sure, educated suburbans are going to fall for the default "commie" label that's beyond outdated. Keep believing that.
Bernie has been anything but a strong frontrunner in the first 2 contests. He should be dominating in these mostly white states.

Sanders support is hispanics and working class urban whites in 2020 this isnt 2016
Exactly. He can't get suburban college educated whites or rural voters. Trump would demolish him in a general election.

He's underperformed slightly, but no where near disappointing. In such a fractured race, with the high amount of candidates, no one was ever going to get above low 30s at best.

I wouldnt have supported the 2003 Tax Cut and neither did McCain. The 2017 Tax Bill and the 2003 were different.

OSR unironically thinks that Obama probably wishes he had lost in 2012 to save the country from Trump. He’s an unwitting troll not worth engaging.

Warren didn't get a lot, but when she does get votes it's coming from Sanders in some big areas.

Obviously Obama would have preferred two terms of Romney who probably was the most moderate nominee since 1976 vs a second term where he barely got anything done then(and the things he did where reversed by Trump) and then followed up by Trump

Looks like Buttigieg and Klobuchar will be competetive in trying to become Bernie's Veep, after this showing. Both of them are younger than Bernie and he need youth.  As predicted, Jane Sanders was a soccer mom and NH females coalesced behind her

4.2K and 1.6% now separate Pete and Bernie. Bernie probably wins, but its gonna be close.

Bold prediction: Bernie Sanders is going to extend the lead out a little at the end of the NH primary vote tally.

Heck sometimes I wish Obama had lost, but then I realize that Trump is a symptom and not a disease.
