Here's a present calculation using SDEs

National Delegate Estimates:

That would make Iowa one giant 4-way draw.

Yeah, but there are no results so this is the only stuff that can entertain me in the short time Sad

That won't be the media narrative.

So WaPo still has this listed as "SDEs" and the %s match that, but looking at the actual numbers next to it, it looks like almost 30,000 new votes have appeared in the past few minutes? There aren't 134,000 SDEs, after all.

Not seeing this anywhere else. The numbers look clearly wrong, too, unless the popular vote percentages magically now match the initial SDE percentages.

The first one was the final alignment votes erroneously entered as the number of SDEs, and the second one is actually the number of SDEs but is multiplied by 100 for all candidates for some reason. The numbers line up with NYT/CNN.

Apparently more results are going to be released tonight (during the SOTU I guess?), but no specific idea when and if it will come as one random dump or in drips and drabs.

Hmm

Going to crosspost some comments from a Hacker News thread on the company that made the app:

Quote
Shadow is a firm that makes custom software for Democrats and progressives. It has an unnecessarily sinister name. There are not a lot of companies that make software for Democrats because it’s an awful job. You make very little money. Everyone hates you when things go wrong, which they will, because the product testing cycle and margins are nonexistent. Then everyone will assume things went wrong because you are some combination– you choose– of secretly evil, secretly working for Bernie, secretly working for The Establishment/Hillary (per someone's unpersuasive Imgur post below), or secretly working for Buttigieg.

Others have noted that Shadow also made software for the Buttigieg campaign. If you take my claims above as true, this should be unsurprising to you: a hard market where everyone hates you and no one has money to pay you is not attractive to enterprising software engineers, so there are few firms available to choose.

I hope you're being sarcastic.

I can't say for sure who won this caucus, but the caucus itself is the obvious loser.

This. The idea that anyone will even remember this by election day is absurd.

He means Iowa. He's just talking about the actual results, doesn't see there being room for Sanders to overtake Buttigieg in SDEs.

Well yeah, that is technically true.

Thank you! The American voter can be stupid, but they aren't so stupid as to walk into the voting booth and suddenly pull the lever for Trump just because the Iowa Democratic Party f***ed up in disseminating the results of the caucus.

However, the fallout from this does suggest that uniting the party is still going to be as difficult as ever for the nominee. I can't say that I'm not anxious about that.

The same people who spent four years b!tching nonstop about how Clinton won the popular vote are now saying Buttigieg won Iowa.

I mean, Buttigieg could have had a much better night if the Iowa Democratic Party was not a sh*tshow, but now most of his momentum has been blunted by the incompetence. Bernie will win easily in NH and looks good in Nevada. Buttigieg will quickly become a non-factor, barring outstanding circumstances.

So in a way, it was a blessing-in-disguise for Bernie Sanders (and Elizabeth Warren) in that they didn't come in first in this sorry excuse of a caucus.
