Excellent PR for the start of the candidate selection process, absolutely brilliant, no way this could possibly be seized on by the incumbent as symbolic or anything.

Iowa DNC just said they aren’t releasing any results officially yet for “quality control” with an “abundance of caution” and will give “no ETA”... this sounds fishy.

This makes me embarrassed to be a Dem.
You really should've already been embarrassed to be a Dem.

I'd be more embarrassed to be a socialist seeing as you have absolutely no power in the US and have dumbasses like AOC and Bernie leading your movement
Both are infinitely smarter than you because they actually see that there's something wrong with the system.

And this argument is why Trump still might be reelected. Sad

I'll still vote and donate and volunteer for Bernie if he's the nominee

I would probably vote for Trump if Pete were the nominee. Thankfully, he won't be.

Donna Brazille... please don't talk about your time at the DNC as a demonstration of integrity and trust in the Democrat Party voting process.

If IDP has 25% of precincts in as they say, why aren’t they reporting 25%? At least we’d have something.

MSNBC is saying that they are getting zero response from the Iowa Democratic Party to any of their questions.

Understandable. MSNBC is probably as annoying to them as a self conscious girlfriend when you're at an outing.

What an utterly broken and unfair process that Sanders has more than 2x (almost 3x!) as many voters as Buttigieg but gets the same delegates. What a travesty.

this is an absolute scandal. how is this democratic? no fan of bernie or pete but that is anti-democratic.

Coin tosses were important in 2016 between Hilldog and Sanders.

From what I remember, Team Hilldog won most coin tosses and barely „won“.

Updaye: DNC on the phone with customer support center in Gujadarit, India. They are currently unplugging and plugging the power chord back in to see if that works

The Bernie champ should have done a better job at convincing folks in other campaigns for the 2nd alignment. It really looks like his camp is doing a very poor job at convincing other folks to realign with them.

Guys, Iowa is never getting rid of its caucuses. They would be required to go after New Hampshire if they did. People guard the state’s “first in the nation” status pretty zealously around here.

So why can't you guys just switch to primaries?

He just explained why. According to Democratic and Republican party rules, New Hampshire is the first Primary in the country. Iowa has dibs on being the first caucus in the country. Any state that tries to jump  the line  ahead of these states gets their delegates stripped like Michigan did in 2008 . There's no way that Iowa is going to give up being first in the nation to vote on the nominations just to become some Sideshow completely overshadowed by New Hampshire voting a week or two previously.

And now they put Jefferson county results into final vote but it's clearly the delegates, I mean the winner has 6. SMH

If the current first round spread holds, Selzer nailed it yet again.

That should have been 5 Bernie 3 Pete because Bernie's share of the vote rounds to 5/8 and Pete to 3/8. I guess they're rigging it for Pete.

Guys this is difficult and everyone's patience myself included is running thing but don't escalate tensions in this thread.
Well said.

The same applies to you.

If things go off the rails more than once or twice in a thread, I'm going to start muting people from it (applies to everyone here).
I've been getting a lot of people saying crap towards me all night for no reason. People are frustrated and are being lame.

Well, you're repeating the same thing over and over again. After a while, people are going to eventually get worked up.

If you don't believe me, see this.
O please. I am rooting for Bernie. Everyone on here almost is rooting for someone. If you think I'm the one most out of line tonight you're just picking on me.
No you’re not. You’re “rooting” for Bernie because you think he’s Trump easiest matchup. An annoying thing you’ve been doing nonstop for almost a month now. We get it your a Trumper we don’t need the repeater. Also fwi you’re the last one to whine about being picked on when you keep making prediction threads just to argue with people who think Trump will lose

I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. I’m having a blast watching this 9-person CNN panel slowly lose their minds.

*voter walks into the voting booth in November 2020* “Well I wanted to get rid of Trump but the Iowa Democratic caucus was such a mess so... guess I’ll be voting for Trump.”
