To me it seems like voters should be more convinced by “Just hear the damn witnesses! What is he hiding?” than smug statements of “We won’t redo the House’s shoddy work” and references to the Clinton impeachment. The process is blatantly being rigged for Trump. However it seems people may have just tuned out entirely.

Reporters are being shut-out of the proceedings, pretty obviously at the instigation of Moscow Mitch the traitor.

Reporters Battle New Restrictions In Trying To Cover Senate Impeachment Trial
Quote
But now Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger has imposed new requirements for the impeachment trial, negotiated in part with Republican leadership:

Reporters are being confined to small cordoned-off sections of areas where unrestricted access was typically standard. They are being prevented from walking with senators to continue conversations — even when the senator involved is willingly participating.

Reporters also now may not approach senators for interviews in the halls surrounding the Senate chamber.

Taken together, the new rules effectively prevent members of the press from reaching many senators.

If this is so obvious and so urgent, then you don’t need anymore witnesses.

So which is it?

To counter: why resist having witnesses if it isn't urgent and obvious?

Yeah, Ken Starr is not a popular figure in suburban Texas after the whole Baylor fiasco.

What has Starr been up to since he got shown the door by Baylor?  Did he go back to private practice?

More witnesses are only needed to make it obvious to everybody that the GOP is acting in bad faith. Also, if we can get Trump people to testify under oath they are forced to either admit the offense or to lie under oath.

Here's a guy who wants administration officials to testify:

So he's got a couple of criminals, an adulterer, and a pedophile for his defense team?

If you had asked me to make a list of people who Trump should not pick for his defense team, it would be exactly this.

Like, was no one else willing to help?

But ... Ken Starr said a few weeks ago that it was time for Republican Senators to pressure Trump to resign.

So we finally get an investigation from Ukraine after all...but probably not the one Trump wanted. Smiley

LMAO.
Well there you go, President Orange Buffoon .... you got a Ukraine investigation.

The Ukrainians may be taking diplomatic niceties seriously. Diplomatic immunity implies non-interference and no tolerance of interference in normal activities. Stalking a diplomat is a criminal activity.

I shouldn't laugh, but this shows the cycling opinions of US politics in a new light:

Am I the only one who finds the Pam Bondi story a bit insulting?  A few years ago Pam Bondi was the Florida AG and let Trump off the hook on dozens of charges related to Trump University, and also let Trump off the hook for tax fraud after he gave her PAC a $25,000 donation.  And the Trump people said she was totally not corrupt and definitely being objective and it was proof that Trump was innocent because totally objective AG Pam Bondi said he was in the clear.  And now she's openly become a Trump sidekick.  Am I the only one who remembers this?

Well, the entire Trump regime is completely corrupt. The problem is that republicans do not care.

Part of the reason why I side-eye articles being run right now showing Trump talking about Starr in 1999.

Twenty years is a long time.  People, opinions, and views change.

Doesn't make picking Starr any better a choice, but I'm sure we could all go back years in the past and find ourselves expressing at least one view that doesn't click with how we feel today.

That being said, Starr has certainly changed his tune from a couple of months ago.
