Uhhhh, doesn't this have the rather obvious problem that Ohio is only entitled to 15 representatives now but the old maps have 16 seats? Can hardly see how it would be legal to elect 16 reps.
Maybe he means a least-change map?
I dunno what a least-change map even would look like, though. Which seat gets chopped? 7?
This is what I was able to do for a least change.

Your black district is illegal, splits multiple counties without having a whole one.

This may not be pure least-change, but it does try to err on side of it. Thoughts?

Behold! An OH map with only 1 Biden seat.

The big dummymander risk is Appalachian Ohio. With the way things are going, it's looking hard for Ds to both improve big time in that area, and continue making gains in the Doughnut.

Albeit illegal. You quin-chopped Franklin County, when only a tri-chop is allowed. Aside from the stricture of not unduly favoring one party, it is possible to hold the Dems to but 2 seats by putting Cincy with a sliver of Hamilton and a slice of Butler, and then run the CD along the western state line as long as it takes to fill out the population. Your map actually drew a swing CD going Dem. Any of the members of any court which would vote to uphold such map would destroy their professional reputations, but as long as it is only with the opposite party, that seems more and more common. Chaps in robes screwing the other party has far more potential to make them into folk hero icons.
Fair.
A map like this is the quickest way for OH to get a new redistricting reform, in fact.

Not as much as Boehner would. 😝
There was speculation in 2011-2012 that Republicans would eliminate Jim Jordan's seat.
In the end, it didn't happen.

I’ve seen the map Boehner threatened him with; they came *this* close before Jordan cried “uncle.”  It was hideous, but it would’ve done the trick.

Is that map online? An image of it? Now I'm curious...Thanks in advance.

No, but it made the rounds behind the scenes even in some Democratic circles as everyone assumed it was gonna be the map for a while.  It basically just carved his seat up like a Thanksgiving Turkey.
I looked for it in vain, trying dailykos and others...

this is the closest I got. A newspaper article was linked to but it doesn't exist anymore.

Reminder that the 2024 Redistricting Amendment looms over anything and everything taking place right now. If that passes in the form it has been drafted, the body would immediately be constituted and remap everything within it's authority.
This comission would be more powerful I take it?

More importantly is that it would remove the politicians from the commission.
Reminds me of the Michigan commission...
