The only bad thing about this win in KY is now a lot liberal are going to waste money against McConnell.

Good, there's plenty of money to go around. Make Mitch hunker down in Kentucky instead of running around causing havoc.

DeSoto mostly in in Mississippi (35 of 41). It was 65-31 for Trump and Reeves leads 59-39.

There aren't any complete counties yet, but it looks like Reeves is running about 5 points behind Trump in the ones that are over half in. He'll probably win unless there is something unusual about black turnout, or the rural NE MS whites come out for Hood in a way that isn't apparent yet.

First complete county:
Jasper - Hood 56-43. Was 52-48 Hillary.

Republicans have lost these elections. Even if the GOP wins MS and LA, it's over. This is going to hurt President's Trump's re-election, makes me very sad Sad

I don't think so. Bevin was unpopular.

Wasn't the attorney general's race close as well, even though the Republican squeaked it out?

Not even close. Cameron won in a landslide, and beat Stumbo by 14%, 57-43%, according to NYT.

Right, as Pericles noted I was confused with the Secretary of State's race. My point was this was not like the recent Louisiana grooming tutorial primary where Edwards did very well and all other Democrats got completely shellacked. The other Democrats lost in Kentucky, but Bevan was not the only Republican who had a close race.

Hood is running 10 points ahead of Hilllary.

So a 7 point loss instead of 17. Moral victory?

You can't really say that with basically no Delta or Jackson or Hood's neck of the woods in yet.

But yeah, Hood is probably going to lose. He could have held the AG seat for life and threw it away. He should have run for Senate last year instead if he's tired of being AG, and he should have lined up a successor Democrat who's not an ACLU lawyer with no funding.

Bevin actually did a little worse in the whitest and most rural district in the country compared to 2015:

Given that he seems to be underperforming Espy, is it possible that Hood might lose by low double digits?

It's a little early to declare that with just 1 complete county.

To answer your question, yes it is possible, but he probably won't.

Any idea when Beshear will be giving his victory speech or when Bevin will be conceding? Bevin’s speech will be quite delicious.

Even with Hood losing, he's not doing all that badly. I think fears of impeachment backlash might have been put to rest tonight, atleast for the moment.

Also, Beshear went from 5,500 to 5,900 with Henderson County finished. So.....

But GOP picked up the AG and SoS spots and Bevin is the most unpopular governor in the country so is it really THAT much of a win?

Kentucky is all in. Beshear wins by just over 4000 votes.

NYT has 100% of precincts in KY. 4,658 Beshear vote lead. That's too big for a recount to overturn unless there is serious error. This is way too similar to the PA-18 special, that went into near recount territory as well, but the GOP declined to pursue that option.

Sounds like myself, Xing, and IceSpear were advising them. And other atlas posters who thought Bevin was inevitable.

These are valid points. French-Henry was the only other statewide Democrat besides Beshear to come within single digits. Greg Stumbo got blown out, and so did every other row office Democrat. Kentucky is of course Safe R for both the presidential and senatorial races next year. Regardless, Beshear's victory should still be considered an impressive feat, particularly since he was thought by most to be the underdog, and since this is Kentucky.
